A Simple Tally
How many people in BN have actually met the man, the myth, the legend that is Jimmy Buffett?? I'm just curious as to how many have either seen him long enough just to get to get an autograph, or have actually been lucky enough to hold a conversation with him. Just curious!
PHINS UP!!!
PHINS UP!!!
We sailed from the port of indecision
Young and wild with oh so much to learn
Days turn into years as we tried to fool our fears, But to the port of indecision I returned.

I walked in Louies Back Yard in Key West in October. He was standing right in front of me. I said excuse me as I passed. It was all I could get out.

I was on the docks in Key West where the Savannah Jane (his sail boat) was tied up. suddenly the doors to the sleeping quarters flew open and I about crapped my pants. Alas, not Jimmy (I can't think of the guys name, Jimmys cousin that looked a lot like him, but with redder hair)

Of course you'd think that, silly man!LIPH wrote:I never met him but I did have dinner with Heather. I think I won.
I've been in the same room with Bubba several times, but never
thought to introduce myself. Of course it was a bigass room, and
he was working at the time, but hey... it was the same room!
And BTW, Shane... I never get tired of seeing that picture.

I met the man backstage on a sultry Sunday night in August, 1992 in Phoenix.
It was the "Recession Recess" tour. A friend of mine's family owns the Corona distributor here in Arizona and Corona Light was sponsoring the show at the Desert Sky Pavillion (now called the Cricket Pavillion).
We were invited backstage along with about 15 other folks, had a great chat (Jimmy wanted to know about local golf courses), got an autographed poster and my photo taken with him. I recall how amazed he was at the summer heat!!! It is a tad on the warm side in Phoenix in August ...."but its a dry heat!!".
Since that summer, he has made his stops here in the valley during October...guess he learned that a dry heat is still hot in August on the desert !!
