Live By The Bay Question

At the end of the tape when Jimmy and the Reefers came back out on stage, Coronas in hand Jimmy told the crowd "the party isnt over yet..do you want to hear a pirate song?!!!" They begin to play and the tape ends with Jimmy talking.

My thinking is he was going to play Son of a Son of a Sailor as an encore.
What song do you think he played if he did not play SOASOAS?
Why isnt it played on the tape?

I'm not sure, but when I bought that years ago, I was very disappointed knowing there was more show and I wasn't going to see it. However, it was a great show/video anyway. I would definitely guess it was SOASOAS.

Maybe Live By The Bay will get the DVD release it deserves with some bonus footage thrown in for good measure.

Sorry, I don't remember that concert well enough to be able to say. I burned out too many braincells that week. :oops:

I think we need to alert Universal that they own the rights to Jimmy's material, and it's currently rotting on an old format!

I just rewatched it and it is "Son of a Sailor" he plays. You can hear them beginning the song in the background while Jimmy's talking. Once he says a couple sentences, it goes back to the performance of "Son of a Sailor" (just the audio) while the credits are running. The credits do end before the song is finished though. :(

Indeed the tape ends with SOASOAS, however, it appears that they edited this song from an earlier point during the show and this was not the actual encore song. From what I recall, at the end of the show when they come back for the encore, Fingers is drenched in sweat in his 80's tank top, yet during the SOASOAS shot, he is dressed in the shirt the opened the show wearing.
man, why do I retain so much usless information?

Exactly what I was wondering....and I hope that obnoxious nasal guy at the beginning of the tape talking about Jimmy being on his boat is NOT a BN-er. If he is I profusely apologize, I sure hope you got contacts, bubba! :o And am I imagining things, or do I hear a faint "salt salt salt" from the audience when he sings Margaritaville? :roll:

Well, Josh Leo (aka White Overalls) was there for sure. I asked him the question but he can't remember either;

No no no there is no salt salt salt in that horrible sounding video. Bad editing for the song screwup.

The salt salt salt chant started at the New Orleans Marg show right before Banana Wind came out, a long time after that Don Johnson introed show.

D - why do you put things in really small letters? It's, at least on my computer, almost impossible to read.
