I think I'll listen to Abbey Road while waiting for Bob to show up while looking at this picture of John Lennon

I don't have a problem with the Beatles but WINGS sure sucked, and what was that crap Paul McCartney did with Michael Jackson in the 80's?

Just a reminder-this is what this thread is about:
Parrot Monkey wrote:I’m 17 and was not alive on December 8th, 1980, but it still angers me when I read about the events that occurred. I grew up listening to John’s music, both Beatles and solo and it gets me so angry to think about the many years of life that John could have lived and all he had left to give the world.

What’s even more sickening is that they actually consider granting his murderer parole. While he has been denied many times in the past and Yoko does everything in her power to ensure he remains behind bars, there still is more that can be done.

By signing the petition located here: http://www.petitiononline.com/rem128/petition.html you can help keep the killer in prison. Please do so, the personal info you have to give is very minimal.

i will not sign that petition due to the fact that i think lennon was less inportant than many people who have been murdered and their killers were paroled.

I really liked Wings. Wings over America was one of the first few albums I bought as a kid. I had to save my $ as it was a triple album.

As for Lennon's killer being up for probation. Lennon was a peace loving person. What do you think he would want for his killer? What would his feelings be if Yoko had been shot? Do you think he would want that person put on death row? I think not. Guess we will never know though.

Well, Tomm, dear, if you'll go ahead and start petitions to keep all those other killers in prison, we'll sign them, too. :D

ragtopW,

No worries, I'm not really that offended. I'll live.

Tommcat,

While the reason is unclear why he did it and will always be, it's absoultly not something as logical as dislikeing John's music. I do know that the novel "The Catcher in the Rye" played a part, but I have not read that and am not aware of the plot. I really don't think he was well.
