Few questions, thinking about grabbing some last minute tickets to jones beach. How long is the ride from boston? How are hotel prices? and how is the tailgate?

I don't know about hotel prices, but hotel rooms do seem to be in short supply. I think MA_Buffettfan23 might still have a reservation at the BW that she's not using (Sailingagain, we haven't heard from you that I know of, so if you don't want us to give up your room, you'll need to speak up quickly).

Well, it looks like I'm still the only one willing to hump Monkeyboy (but it's ok Shane, you won't be able to move afterwards anyway!).

But I have been informed that the group size has hit 30 people, but I don't know if that includes Zanth and Co. or not- I do know it includes Ilyse.

I will have the two lovely ladies Kit mentioned with me. As well as BOR and I assume Ms. BOR as well. Waiting for a confirm from St. Somewhere and his Mrs. My ex-virgin sister might also be coming with a friend as well (stay away Monkey Boy!)
We be getting there very early to avoid the horriffic traffic. We will be heading home that night to prepare for our party (everyone's invited) the next day.

I recommend taking the ferry if you go. It is about 2 hours from Boston to the ferry in New London Ct. the ferry ride is about 1 hr 30 mins and the ride from Orient Point to Jones Beach area is another 2 hours.

For anybody that is a golfer Beth Page Black where the U.S. open was in 2002 and will be again in 2009 is about 15 minutes from where the hotels are. There are 5 courses at Beth Page State Park the greens fees range from $30-$40 alot better than $350-$400 for Pebble Beach or Pinehurst.

The Fiance and I will be there. Hopefully hanging out with Kitty, CRC and the gang.(If we are allowed )

Not sure where we are staying yet though.
