My prep work has begin for next weekend, we are staying at the Best Western in NY Friday night. I will be bringing my Bar with me, it worked out well at Great Woods last year so for those of you who will be joining the BuffettNews contingent feel free to bring any alcohol/non-alcohol beverages you want to help us stock it for the day. We won’t be hard to find, just look for the Buffett News Flag flying high in the sky.
...And the new Cuervo Nation flag that debuted at Camden this year!

......plus the 350 pounds of beach sand we are brining with us :D
Why are you hauling 350 pounds of beach sand with you? Why not just bring a shovel (or move your stuff to the beach?)?

Why not just carry the set up out to the beach? Sorry, anytime I hear about moving 350 pounds of landscaping material my back just starts to hurt.

I don't think I've ever been to a tailgate that wasn't interesting. Then again, if there's rum there, I'm a happy camper.

I think someone mentioned a cell phone list.. Which I think is a great idea!

I'll start it and if you want to be added to the list just send me a PM with your number and I'll respond with mine!

And apparently, there will be a bar with a BN and Cuervo flag flying high surrounded by 350 pounds of sand....

That's correct. I haven't thought of a name for the Bar yet. Last year it was simpley called Buffettnews.com this year I may change it. The flag will have the BN logo which is on this site somewhere. Next week we can exchange cell numbers so you can find us......

I have no idea why I was even looking at this thread, since there's
no way I'd be able to make the Jones Beach show. But then I saw
this post and just HAVE to ask...
Did you really find your wife on Image??!!?
(I've heard of internet relationships, but that's just weird! )

Flyin in from AZ

Post by ParrotheadAZ »

The southwest will be represented when I fly in next week for the big show! This is my first time at Jones Beach.

We're looking for some tailgatin' info. Normally, we put a 6 foot fin in the back of the truck and about 10 gallons of margaritas. Unfortunately, I haven't figured out a way to get it on the plane!

SO, we're looking to hook up with some of our east coase brethren for a little parking lot BBQ action--JB Style! We'll also be at the 10/16 Vegas show so if any of you are coming out to our humble neck of the Desert, drop a line!

Any Suggestions.... :pirate:

Heya AZ,
First, welcome to the board. There will be a pretty decent crowd meeting up at the Gateway Inn (1780 Sunrise Hwy, Merrick, NY 11566). Not sure when we will be leaving for the show as of yet, but I'd say if you get there by 10:00am should be cool. Just be warned that a Monkey might try to hump you, he likes fresh meat.
Also, I will be heading out to Vegas for the 16th show, a few others in our group might come as well. We can discuss details over a corona or two :D
