Well, we could do some math:

Jimmy makes about 750k a show in fees
part of that has to be to cover the "boys (and girls) in the band and their boat drink tab"
For simplicity: figure he keeps half for himself, the rest goes to them. They are probably set up as independent contractors, so insurance and the like comes out of their end.
when all is said and done: figure 20k a show? Less for that Utley guy... :D

They also have to pay all the security people, vendors, and stage hands.

No its not private. We you are in entertainment you put yourself in the spotlight. Look at all the movie stars and Buffett himself. There is a special issue of Forbes magazine dedicated to the subject every year don't be so naive.

No, actually, it IS private. Just because you're in the entertainment business, you don't give up your right to privacy in this country. Unless you work for Uncle Sam, your salary is a private agreement between you and your employer.

And just why the hell would any of us think we deserve the answer to such a personal question?? :-? (We don't.....)

ummmmmmm no -

They get paid by the week or portion of a week while they are on the road.

They make more than a McD fry cook, and less than a lawyer, but no one is driving Lamboghinis.

I don't even ask my coworkers what they make compared to me....it's PERSONAL. Just because someone is in the spotlight it means that we should know all their personal info too? Funny, I thought we all had the same right to privacy...must have missed the memo stating otherwise... :-?

IT'S ABSOLUTELY NONE OF YOUR DAMN BUSINESS... Just b/c they're in the spot light does not mean we need or have to know everything about them... Who cares if there is a special section in Forbes every year and surprise surprise it's probably the same people that make the list every year. The are individuals as well, you don't see me wondering how much you make now do you?? It doesn't matter if you're rich, poor, black or white, it's a private matter and if they wanted the world to know they would tell you....

you'd get the same kind of response to those questions from this "bunch of people"

what runway Jimmy's plane happens to be on *might* be considered public knowledge, but the rest of what you just listed is private

It's not a crime to be curious. I have to know what kind of pay to expect from Jimmy cause I figure my next job is that of a Reeferette. Heck, I can tell you I've spent so much money following that guy around--I figure he could put me on the payroll for a least a few gigs.

See you in Chicago
