I am ready to take the plunge (my wife is another story). The Ipod is the leader, but I know that there are a lot more to chose from now. I have also been looking at the Rio Karma & Nomad Zen Xtra. What do yall use?

I have a second generation iPod, however there are a ton of other mp3 players out there. It depends on what you are looking for.

The iPod can be used as an external hard drive because they are so large. If you want one to use while working out, I would reccommend something much smaller. They have ones now that are smaller than my keychain and hold upwards of 128k (that's about 30 songs).

It all depends on what you will be using it for.

Drive Pro X Drive. Also comes with a memory card reader, and you can change the storage capacity (it is basically a shell that you put a 2.5" HD inside).

The battery life on the Zen is AMAZING. With plenty of capacity (5,000 MP3s) and way cheaper then the ipod, that's my choice.

I bought this about 3 months ago it was $190 with a $50 rebate it holds 4 hours of mp3's or 8 hours of wma's (windows media), it was worth every penny. There is a cheaper version which holds half as much music for $149. It is smaller than a pager it sounds great it also has an FM radio.
