he only has to complete 10 passes a game and throw for 150 yards and he wins. Not a bad gig. He's a good quarterback in a great situation.

I would say he is an unknown QB in a great situation. Any other young QB playing would have had the same results that he has had.

When his team NEEDS him to win a game then we will see how good he is. Lets see how he plays if Pitt is behind with less than 2 min. left needing a long drive for the win. For a team that runs as much as Pitt does Ben getting sacked 11 times in the past 2 games can't be a good sign of things to come!

That's totally unfair. No other QB has ever done what he has done. His stats are average, but he does what it takes to win, which, by the way, they weren't doing until he started.

Tom Brady was an unknown QB when he got thrown into the starting lineup. I don't think he won his first 10 games.

I can't believe I'm going to defend Tom Brady but he also didn't have the receivers, offensive line or running attack that Ben is blessed with.

The MAC has placed some good QB's in the NFL the last few years. Ben is good and he will be good for years to come.

I would think that any rookie QB would be "unknown". I really don't understand that statement.

Correct but Brady's play won many games for the Patriots in 2001 and had no running game he (Brady) also has the record for most completions to start a carreer without throwing an interception. Roethlisberger hasn't had to win one game this season, Pitt runs the ball 70% of the time. If a team can stop the run like Baltimore and New England can in the playoffs then we will see how good Roethlisberger is. As I said when you pass only 30% of the time over the last 2 games and get sacked 11 times.....not good!

The object of the game is to score more points then your opponent. It doesn't matter how good, or bad, a team looks doing it. And the Steelers are doing it, that's all that counts.

Granted, they were an inferior opponent, but Ben and the Steelers came from behind to beat the Cowboys in Dallas in Ben's 3rd start.

I agree!

The Colts have a good team because of Manning
The Eagles have a good team this season because of McNab and Owens
The Patriots are a good team because of Brady, Dillon and their D
The Steelers are a good team because of Bettis, Staley and their D

And the Steelers already beat New England this year, didn't they? The defense rests, your honor.

In the only game Dillon didn't play this season..........they also lost Law in the first quarter. We will see what happens in the playoffs!

i don't consider roethlisberger a unknown , he was a 1st round pick with a lot of hype, also brady wasn't a unknown he went to a big -10 school that was in the natinal spotlight. the thing with brady he manages a game well.his first year was because the patriots had a relentless defense that gave the offense a great chance. the defense also scored a few points.another point they have a great kicker.
