College Football 2004
As we all know the season kicked off last weekend, HOWEVER, this weekend represents the true kickoff of the season with most everybodies favorite teams in action.
I'll be in attendance at the Big House to watch the Maize& Blue kick it off with the RedHawks of Miami of Ohio.
Tonight is a big game between the Utes of Utah and the Texas A&M Aggies.
A&M needs this one to get back to respectibility and a victory by the Utes puts them on track to be one of this years non bcs teams that can chirp about how they deserve to be in a bcs game cause they'll be coming down the homestretch unbeaten.
You Clemson fans out there, be careful with this game against the Deacons of Wake Forest. Wake got off to a good start last year and the Tigers can't get caught looking ahead.
Game of the weekend.........Monday Night........Canes v. Noles........need I say more! While I don't care for either team this game is still 1 of the major matchups that have an impact on the National Championship. Hopefully the real Hurricane will not torture the state of Florida and this game comes off without a hitch.
My picks........Michigan by 17, Utah by 3, Clemson by 14, Miami wins in overtime!!!!!

After the butt-whoopin' the Deacs handed Clemson last year, I don't think anyone is looking ahead of them this year. Wake isn't the pansy team they used to be.....even before they killed us last year, they played us close the year before. But I think we're ready this year and will exact our revenge. I think your prediction of Clemson by 14 is a good one.....we'll win, but we won't blow them away by any means. I'll be there--look for the crazy pregnant lady in orange yelling her head off.Dr.Corona wrote:You Clemson fans out there, be careful with this game against the Deacons of Wake Forest. I'm interested to see the Texas A&M game, too, as my Tigers will be travelling down there in two weeks. I hope the FSU/Miami game will actually happen and won't have to be cancelled b/c of stupid ol' Frances.

I won't be shocked if this game is competitive into the 4th quarter. I'm expecting the offense to take a while to get going. I'm hoping that all the talk about this being a stud defense is true, but I can't figure out where that's coming from as we lost 2 starters on the line and in my mind a couple of the starting linebackers are questionable. The secondary does look awesome on paper, but I'm afraid of the D-Line being pushed around.msu#1 wrote:Hey Buddy I think your team is gonna get a real scare saturday. the Redhawks dont have their stud Qb anymore, but neither does U of M, hahaha Navarre that was a joke if you didnt get it. Rest assured MSU......I'll drink more than 1 for you!!!

If the Aggies' secondary continues to play like it did last night, Charlie Whitehurst will pick them apart when Clemson plays them in a couple of weeks.Dr.Corona wrote:Dr.Corona wrote:

At first, I was thinking that Utah could be a really good team this year. But as the game went on (not to take anything away from the Utes--they're still a good team), I became convinced that A&M is just really, really bad. McNeal is a great athlete, but is just not in the system for him and he really has nobody else around him. Could be a very long year in College Station.
But at least they get OU at home this year. Surely OU can't beat them 77-0 again . . . can they?

I just heard a good one on Jim Rome....since the UM/FSU game is cancelled the station is going to show Cops instead....no one will be able to tell the difference

So how many folks are actually getting to go to games this weekend? I know Dr. Corona will be in the Big House. And I'm heading out about 5 am tomorrow to go up to see the beginning of the Bill Callahan era at NU (one upside to moving back from the east coast: actually getting to see the teams I care about play!)
Safe travels and may the good guys win!
