Yes....and no.

Clemson plays at Miami next week, so I'm thinking they'll be out to redeem themselves. Given the chance to slaughter us, I think they will.

BUT....I was glad because it gave me hope that maybe my Tigers can pull off an upset as well. Not likely, but there is a glimmer of hope for me now. Maybe they can pull off a miracle like they did last year when they beat FSU.

GO TIGERS!

Will Tennessee take the Fighting Irish lightly this weekend and get upset???

BIG game between Nebraska & Iowa State this weekend....winner has inside track to winning Big 12 North!

I'll be interested in the Minnesota/Wisconsin game. The Gophers have been in the tank since early October...this game determines if they're flushed down for good.

Does the 12th man at Texas A&M stand a chance against OU? How in the hell could they lose to the Baylor Bears??

Does Sparty have the kohona's to bounce back and beat the Luckeyes? It's tough to figure who to root for when you hate both teams! Okay, I'll make a call. Go Sparty. :-?

And the best news yet........

SPURRIER NOT RETURNING TO UF!

Coach Spurrier's Statement:

"I have informed Jeremy Foley, our athletic director, that I am
withdrawing from consideration for the head coaching position at
my alma mater.

"When I departed three years ago there were several reasons why I believed it was time to move on. Other than simply wanting to
coach in the NFL someday, I also believed that 12 years at
Florida was probably long enough. Many people in football believe
that around 10-12 years in the same job is about the maximum time
a coach should stay.

"We Gators had a wonderful run for 12 years, seven division
championships in 10 years, seven SEC championships and the
ultimate, the l996 National Championship. As the Gator coach I simply believed I'd had my day in the sun and I've had my nights in the
domes, the Georgia Dome and the Superdome, where we had five
championship celebrations.

"I have had an excellent relationship with Jeremy Foley for
many years. He called me several times this week trying to set up
a meeting after the season with him and President Machen. They
were obviously making an effort to meet with me.

"I personally thank all our Gator players from l990 through
2001, our assistant coaches, our staff, the alumni and students,
and all Gator football fans for their role in making all these
championships a reality.

"I have not been offered any coaching job by any team, and I'm
not searching for one. My coaching career with the Gators ended
at the Orange Bowl on January 2, 2002.

"I feel it is time to clear the air and support Athletic
Director Jeremy Foley and President Bernie Machen as they search for the best coach available to lead the Gators back to the top of
the Southeastern Conference. Go Gators."

It's no surprise that Spurrier isn't returning to UF. When he left Florida, the Gator fans bashed him to pieces, and now that they have not been winning, they act like they are his best friend. I wouldn't have went back either, to bad Florida.

Why does anyone actually think this man can coach in the NFL? Wasn't Washington proof enough?

Washington is a bad team. Gibbs is a good coach and he is not able to do anything with them either.

My point is that Spurrier came in with the attitude, "This is easy, I can coast and win". The team spent money, and failed horribly. As for Gibbs, I won't defend him, except to say that he has been out of the game for a really long time, and has to clean up SS's mess.

I think that this team will be bad until Daniel realizes that he knows absolutly nothing about football.

Too true. Snyder is the real problem.

Tennessee could get upset without taking the Irish lightly. Ainge hasn't played especially well of late and the longer ND hangs around the more nervous I will get. Schaeffer came off the bench last weekend to spark the offense and Ainge responded and played well in the 2nd half. We don't have that luxury this weekend. I think Tennessee ultimately wins, but I don't take any win for granted this year given the youth the Vols are depending on all over the field.
Do I dare disturb the universe?

I totally agree with you, we can't take anything for granted in the next few games and most definitely not treat them lightly. We all know that is when you get upset. If they can just keep their confidence to a moderate level, we can finish these last three games, and take another shot at Auburn in SEC Championship Game!! GO VOLS!!!!!!!!
