Hi fellow Parrot Heads from Pittsburgh. The Burgh show was FANTASTIC!!! My group not only enjoyed the show, but 2 lucky parrot heads from our family had front row seats and at the end of the show, Jimmy put Bec's homemade hat on and walked around the stage with it and then gave her not only the hat back, but a pair of signed flip flops!!! He chuckled and said, "And I don't want to see these on EBAY tomorrow!!!" The party in the lot afterwards was even better, as we looked at the hat and signed flip flops with awe and admiration. Just a little piece of Jimmy for all eternity. We hope everyone had as much fun as we did and THANKS again to Jimmy and the Coral Reefers for another outstanding night in Pittsburgh. Phins Up and have a wonderful and safe holiday weekend.
PS: All those Florida PH's stay safe as Frances bears down on the coast.

Allow me to add some info to the thread...
The concert as usual was fantastic.
They just need to figure out a better way to get people into the lot.
Tailgating was excellent beforehand that is...
Everyone in our section thought it would be ok to leave our inflatables and bars out during the show.
WRONG!!!!!!!!!
We came back out and some stole our inflatable tiki god, slashed a hole in our pool, and knocked down our bar.

Moe Phins......that is soooo cool !!! I remember hearing Jimmy say that he didnt want to see them on ebay.
Did anyone even get searched going in? Me, the wife, and keet all just walked through with the ticket taker just saying "enjoy the show". I had my camera phone with me and took a couple of pix. Not the best, but hey....it's a phone !

</a>Hey ReefDiver. Glad to hear you enjoyed the show as well. As for cameras, we had a snotty event person tell one in our group to get rid of his videocamera in the lot or "he'll take it away". This was in the parking lot.. and I had to laugh as he's saying this to our friend .. 6'2" 320lbs as well as my husband 6'2" 330lb both ex-football players...go figure. As for the gates, I had a homemade large hat on and the guy taking tickets asked me to take the hat off so he could inspect it.. He thought I had a camera in it. Wish I did, but no such luck... I'm not that good. HAHAHA. Oh well, it doesn't matter now. The show was GREAT, one of the best I've seen in the Burgh. Now if I could just go to Vegas in Oct... a girl can dream, RIGHT? Hope you had fun. Have a great holiday weekend.

Moe phins, that was cool, I heard Jimmy remark that he didn't want the flip flops showing up on E-bay!
The concert rocked, definitely the best show we've been to. About halfway though the first set the row in front of us filled in, we were in section 8, row X. The folks in front of us showed up well lubed and had two beers each. By the second set they were all partied out and sat down for the rest of that set. They left before the encore. It worked out well for us since my girlfriend couldn't see with the tall guys in that group there. That's the gamble with concert seats though.
The weather was great, traffic and parking were a real pain but still couldn't put a damper on an absolutely memorable night.
The last concert we got to see was at Bristow, VA September 8th, 2001. This one sure made up for the bad association that concert has.

Pittsburg..
The show was great! One of the best, I saw him in Camden earlier this summer and must say he loves the pirates in the burgh much better
On the down side- the parking lot situation was something to be desired, I have been to his shows in Pitt for the last 10 years, not sure what happened yesterday! It was kinda nice to have the buses in the middle for a change.
Glad we all had a great time! Wish we would all be there again tonight like in the good old days!

the gate guy where we went in basically just let everybody flow by him no blankets checked no pat down. Just a lift of the hawaiian shirt to show my belt a quick spin and in with two cameras. Last year we had one of three cameras taken from us.
The show was awesome, thought the ebay comment was hilarious, lot was great, traffic on 22/30 was horrible going home (note to self-learn the back way to PGP) Glad everybody had a good time see you all next year

Hey Demerara, We were in 14 and 15, I am the big guy wearing the flag shirt. If you missed me you either partied too hard or had on blinders! You must have been in that group to our right on the end.Demerara wrote:

We travelled from Delaware to see that show, missed out on every venue closer to us. I've got to say, everything about our trip to Pittsburgh was excellent (except for the concert traffic).

There were two empty seats next to us (8 & 9) and then there were two people in 10 and 11 who seemed to be sitting for most of the show. Beyond them I don't think I took note of anyone else. Did you go out for beer (or the bathroom) once or twice? If you exited to your right (i.e., toward the center of the pavilion), then you passed right in front of us. It was just my wife and I, although there were people sitting in 1 through 5.Mainsail wrote:Hey Demerara, We were in 14 and 15, I am the big guy wearing the flag shirt.

Demerara,
Nah, we made a point of not going out for drinks during the concert since we were in the center of the row. We didn't want to put down anybody's good time.
We chatted with some folks a few rows ahead of us from Buffalo who got tickets through their local phan club. We also talked with the people behind us during the intermission, nice crowd overall. Hope to see you at the next one!

Coming down through Buffalo and Erie we saw plenty of vehicles done up Buffett-style. It made the trip seem shorter, playing "spot the parrotheads"!Mainsail wrote:We chatted with some folks a few rows ahead of us from Buffalo who got tickets through their local phan club. Got my tickets through someone here on BN. It was an awesome show -- we'll probably be back next year!

We've had PIT tickets several years--twice from the ticket sites--pretty pricey, but the first time was from a girl who drew first in the ticket lottery at a ticket master outlet; they were still priced way over cost, but much better than the ticket places (I think she charged $500 for 2 tickets that ended up being in the first row, since they were toward the end of the 2nd row, ya know?)
