License To Chill Live CDs

Post by JustDucky »

Anyone heard the word on the License To Chill tour having shows recorded for live album releases? I got the Hawaii album (the only live Tiki Time Tour LP I have) with the DVD and for the most part it's pretty good. I can't see buying ALL of the Tiki Time Tour records for just one song difference or whatever else but I'm sure someday I will.

live shows

i dont think any of the License To Chill shows will be on a live album, but Jimmy made an offhand reference during one of his pre-show interviews about the Memorial Day concert with Alan Jackson and George Strait showing up somewhere on a live album...

Actually, Mailboat has already confirmed a handful of shows from the License To Chill tour will be made available later this year.

Among those mentioned: Atlanta, Chicago, Indianapolis and Miami.

Given Mailboats track record with release dates, I wouldn't mark my calendar or anything. But I would suspect they'll eventually release them.

Actually last year it was mentioned that Alpine would also be released.
I hope so as the RM feed wasn't the best.

Live from Chicago would be great!! The crowds there are awesome, and, IMHO, Jimmy puts Chicago at the top of his list of favorite venues.

You realize he has, at one time or another, said that about every venue he plays... It gets the crowd that much more "up" during the show. :D

Thank you for addressing this! I have to laugh at everyone I meet saying, "Jimmy says, [insert venue] is the best place he's ever played."

I've seen him in Cincinnati, Columbus, Raleigh, Indianapolis, Pittsburgh...the list goes on. And at every place I hear it.

Its fun though. That's Jimmy's knack for making everyone feel special and making them feel that way even when the show is done.

It's not mine either.. but I didn't get to hang out in the Lot with you folks either. I just got to ride the Light Rail downtown.. and see obscene balloon puppets made at Dick's Den. :D

When you hear him say (insert name of venue here) is my favorite place to play, and he isn't playing there when he says it, then you might know which venue is his favorite.

A number of years ago I saw Genesis in Cleveland, and Phil Collins went into this big long story about why they were playing in Cleveland in this exact night. He said something about charting the stars and planets and all that and found out that on that day, Cleveland was at the exact center of the universe. When everyone was finished yelling and celebrating Collins said...of course we will be saying that whole bunch of Bull S*** again tomorrow night in Chicago. Thought it was pretty funny.

Maybe they'll release the Nashville show... oh, never mind.

I've also seen him at several different venues, and I seem to remember him saying at each one "This is where I started out."

Whatever, Jimmy-JUST KEEP PLAYING!

I really hope the Fort Lauderdale comes out on CD. That was my first Jimmy Buffett concert and I thought it was an amazing show.

Looks like Mailboat is at it again.

Reliable sources tell me that no License To Chill tour discs will find their way to market until early 2005.

Also, it appears unlikely that License To Chill will be available any time soon on iTunes due to licensing issues.
