Friday at Fenway
Great times at the show on Friday night, a few observations to share......
The crowd was great, very loud and very much into the show. There were a few near us who were sitting, and I even saw one guy in a suit and tie, but the chants of "Jimmy Buff-ett!" <clap clap clap clap clap> and "Yankees s***" were loud and often.
The sound was just ok, I thought when Jimmy spoke, it was very garbled and I couldn't understand him from where we were.
Wherever you sit in Fenway, regardless of field boxes, grandstand, etc, you won't be able to really see much, it's quite a distance from the stage to most of the seats, except maybe right field, and the monster seats were closed, you probably couldn't see from that angle. The field was a sea of people, it was a pretty impressive sight.
It was surreal seeing him at Fenway, a great experience, the bars were crowded and lively, and we ran into a bunch of BN folks, including SGH at the Tiki Room.
There was no opening act and no surprise guests.
Let's do it again on Sunday!

well I liked the show but there were alot of nonparrotheads who were very drunk and rowdy. We got beer spilled on us all night and they p*** on us. I've never seen anything so gross in all my life. I would rather have been spit on. And the bar thing was very crowded and a huge pain in the butt. And it was nice of Jimmy to show all those tailgating photos so we could see what we missed. But as you people have said before Jimmy had a great time and this was all about him. I just hope we're all back a greatwoods next year.

Had a great time last night, as always its great to see Jummy and he never disapoints with his inventiveness (hope i spelled that right). I will add though, that i thought the crowd was overpowering with non phans, very rowdy, fights where we all felt threatened and people, well just being nasty. We found that there was little to no crowd control leaving people just milling around the walkways, spilling beer on us, one guy even grabbed my wife, pulling her from her chair into the outside isle. He left not very happy mind you, but it does not need to be like this. Most people there probley don't know why they are even there. But all in all, i love Jimmy and his tunes..... so........ see you all Sunday, we''ll be 4th row center stage!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

the roof was great, all fans dancing we had friends come up as there was plenty of room the sight lines were great up there here is our review
few things the show was awesome, great set list, you could at times hear reverb, or whatever they call it, we sat up inthe roof top seats section 20 we had a great view looking out to center, if anyone wants to get up to the roof, right or left filed, they werent checking tix from the right field stairs, gate b entrance we could have sat at the budweiser bar, no security up top, except at the 406 club i have seena rougher crowd at a sox tigers fri night game, well behaved, definitely an older crowd that GW up top no lines for anything boston cops told us it was a piece of cake bunch of people trying to sell tix, we stayed at the hojos, very convenient awesome hearing his sound check as we were checking in the hojos seemed a bit overwhelmed avalon/axis was fun, the bad was great, could have done without the best ass contest, no offense to the 200 pounder that won it hillman from waaf emcing, very annoying, dont think he appreciated our yelling at him to get off the stage and let the band back on the corona giveaways were medallions that they were chucking at you was good to get up and dance around if we had stayed at the tiki bar the whole time we would have fallen off our bar seats saw a bunch of bners before during and after the show nice of fenway to jack the beer prices up for the show show went quick less than three hours so i would guess he'll be doen by nine on sun cant help you onthe t traffic it is sunday, so meters are free, though boylston meters all turned to no parking area for sun sox games we generally finf free spots over near the museum of fine arts of drive to brookline village and take the t the t from there, three stiops i think had a great plate of nacho's and blueberry beer at boston beer works after the show all in all a great time wifey made the six oclock on channel seven, havent seen it, but was told she wasnt slurring her words, and answered the questions correctly the one thing that did bug us was the parrot cam video he played during the show, at least he could have used the old GW footage didnt need to keep being reminded we had no tailgating this year if anyone skipped thsi show in protest to no tailgating, you missed out to look out from the roof, see jimmy in centerfield and the turf covered with fins to left and right, with the boston skyline in the bakcground, priceless they didnt seem to check to thouroughly coming in, frisked more at the sox game we went to last week, so i would think you could get a camera in, saw alot of flashes going off

out on yakeyway was nasty and the bars in the area were hard to get into and crowded. Alot of waiting in line. Inside lines depended on which beer you wanted, some were short and its $7.00 in fenway. And goodluck to the wife if she has to go to the bathroom those were the worst, guys had no lines as usually.tryin' to reason wrote:One quick question -
Could you get beers at the bars or outside stands fairly easily???
Looking to roam and want to know how best to re-fuel.![]()

very fun show, but really did miss the tailgating. It was great to meet Zuke outside the park, and everyone was really nice, as usual. I even got $5 from a guy in the drink line, when I realized I was a few bucks short. Very nice!!!! Looking forward to Sunday, if my body cooperates and stops feeling so sore and tired!!!

where did you go where the bars were hard to get into? We were at the Tiki Room and there wasn't a line until about 6 o'clock. Once inside getting a beer, food etc... was relativley easy. Maybe you should check out the Tiki Room on Sunday.

Very good show. I enjoyed the things such as the Reverse the Curse thing. Also, I don't know if anyone had mentioned this but his choice of playing Sweet Caroline was perfect because that song has become the anthem of Fenway Park (except Dirty Water). Every 8th inning of every Sox game they play that song and EVERYONE sings along. So it was very nice because it in some ways brings back memories of being back at a Sox game. Also, the crowd got VERY into that song.
A loved Coast of Carolina. I wasn't expecting that song and that has become a very meaningful song to me so I thouroughly enjoyed it. As usual, Pirate Looks at Forty was my favorite song of the night.
As a side note, me and my friend got to our seats and the 2 ladies next to us sort of made fun of us for being so young (we are both 19 year old parrotheads). They thought it funny that people who were underage and couldnt legally drink would like him. So they pretty much told us they were skeptical that we even knew anything about Buffett. Well when he came out obviously me and my friend knew every word to every song he sang. They felt so bad for doubting our parrothead-isn that they bought us about $50 worth of drinks the rest of the show... it was much

The show was great, our section was pretty good, no horror stories to tell, everyone pretty much got into it, there were of course several "sitters" but no one bothered us for standing. We were in the loge I think it was 27 NN. The acoustics weren't great, but seeing Buffett at Fenway was great. All in all, quite an enjoyable evening~
The preparty at Boston Billiards was a blast. Dollar drafts, and no cover, they also had food there too, pretty reasonable piced, like burgers, dogs, cheesburgers, chicken sandwiches. Buffett tunes playing, and some room to move, its pretty large in there, not like the Tiki lounge which was PACKED and had VERY expensive drinks. The Tiki Lounge gets an "A" for atmosphere, but it was just way way too crowded, for me anyway. Anyhoo, had a great time at Boston Billiards, but then again, we could have a party in a paper bag too...
Zuke & I and a friend are headed over there again Sunday, probably by 1:30 (they open at noon). Look for the guy with the shark hat! Depending on the weather I will be wearing a black vneck sweater with Hula Dancers on it, if its hot hot hot probably not.
Hey Kerpat, great to see you too! (This is Mrs. Zuke)!!! Good to see you too SGH!
Shout out to Danielle the events manager at Boston Billiards! If you see her, tell her you are looking to get lei'd!

I thought the whole evening was amazing.... did I miss the greatwoods tailgate? Sure. Did it have any effect on my ability to enjoy the evening? Not at all.
We had no problem getting into any bars anywhere around Fenway - most didn't seem that jammed until after 6p.
The show was great - Jimmy was really fired up. The crowd, from where we were sitting, seemed like the usual good natured parrothead bunch.

Slide guitarist extrordinare Sonny Landreth joined the Coral Reefers as Fenway park lit up the Green Monster for Jimmy Buffett in Boston. Buffett dedicated his encore of "Defying Gravity," to victims of the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks.

Crowd was pretty good, i went last minute so I didnt do the bar thing. I got a lifesaver from an extremely phriendly ph. Myself being on a low college budget couldnt afford to go to the show. But after a bottle of tequilla i figured id take a walk down to the park and try and pick up a ticket from a scalper or listen from landsdowne. The first two scalpers I ran into were sellin them for 200+. I then ran into a guy who brought his family into see the show and had an extra ticket. He sold it to me for the low college phriendly fee of 45 bucks. This set of a chain reaction because a scalper saw this, found tickets were going this cheap and he may never get rid of his, sold his tix to two of my friends for 50 a piece. Show was great, and the jolly mon ended the curse, so all in all you couldnt really ask for much more.

What a great time!!!!
We didn't even get to the Fenway area until about 6p - so not much time for a warm up for us. We met friends at the HoJos and then hit the Axis/Avalon for a few before we went in.
Seats on the field were great even in the back section. No problem sneaking a disposible camera in, we'll see how the pix turn out.
Great set list, Jimmy was sooooo pumped to be there. Piece of Work was a nice addition.
Met Bixx and Mrs. Bixx at the HoJo's after the show. I hope Mrs. Bixx's hand is better
I've gone to GW the past 4 years, but Fenway was really a once in a lifetime experience (or twice for anyone going again on Sun).
I was in Boston for less than 17 hours, but every minute was a blast!
