A waste of good rum? :D
:P :P :P  I don't know if I'd classify Bacardi Limon as good rum, silly! :wench: but I do see your point. :D This is just a great way to fortify your Corona!
well, then for that... a shot of 151 before you start drinking the Corona kills the taste of the latter nicely...
Hey, just do a couple shots of 151, and it'll surely kill the any and all memory of the taste, the woman you're drinking with, where you left the car keys, where you left your car,
what bar you're in, what state you're in, what your name might be..... :pirate:
I seem to remember that effect in Cincy this year. Well, a better way of explaining would be, "Other people remember it having that effect on me"... :D

Hey does this adult beverage require a lime also, or do you forgo the lime for the Barcardi Limon?

How many times have you went to a Buffett Tailgate and brought limes for the corona, but in all the anticipation forgot to cut the limes or bring a knife? This has happened to me. Over the years we have gone to great lengths to get the limes cut, by either "borrowing" a utensil, or creating a utensil.
My whole world lies waiting behind DOOR #3! In the meantime, I am just sippin' on a margarita.........

given that I fly in for a lot of the shows, they don't let me bring one on the plane. However, most cities have a dollar store or a Target, and that is the first stop prior to heading out to the venue. :)

I usually put the lime in, drink so the neck of the bottle is empty, then fill with Bacardi Limon. They taste great but be careful. They go down way too easy and before you know it you are knee-walking drunk!!!!!

Not sure of the official name, but in a stooper while in Cabo, we came up with loaded Corona, something about pulling the trigger :o

"gently" shouldn't be a word used to describe anything regarding drinking! :pirate:
   I've always said that Corona gives the best head....I'll prolly be gentle at first, but then kick things up a notch once I'm feeling fuzzy.
really? :o

loaded corona

Post by krusin1 »

Just FYI....

The Margaritaville Cafe in Vegas knew all about these, and (you're right!) called them "loaded Coronas."

Quite handy before/after the concert.

For any booze scholars inclined to further their pursuit of beer/liquor mixtures, page 2 in this forum has a thread entitled "increase the potency of the Corona" where this stuff is discussed a bit more.

Salut!

Not being a beer drinker, is there still a really strong beer flavor when you do this??

Seems to me doing this in the bottle would cause a pretty "explosive head", not necessarily a bad thing. But to me this sounds like the same way you would make a "Depth Charger" or a "Dr. Pepper". Fill a pint glass half full of Beer and drop the shot in, yes shot glass and all, then you slam that puppy down. Ok so I managed a Cantina before becoming a school teacher. But working with drunks and middle school children really isn't that much different. :pirate:

No, its like adding more lime to a beer that already tastes like water. Its about the only way I can drink a Corona. :)

Surprisingly it doesn't. I think the explosive head in a depth charger has more to do with the shot glass disturbing the beer. If you just poured liquor directly into the beer, the effect would be minimal.

You know, we used to have beer fights with our bartenders doing the whole thumb over the neck and turn over thing.

I had a thing called a "Jager Bomb", which was a glass of beer with a shot of Jagermeister dropped glass and all into it. Drink a few of those, and you won't know where you are!

Boilermakers/Sean O'Farrells... Same thing.

And yes they are a bit different. Drunks stay drunks. Middle school kids grow up to be drunks.. :D

heh .. this thread makes me feel old

didn't seem like that long ago that I made the "increased potency" thread ... then I looked at it ..... a different screen name and 4 years have passed

I don't think I've drank these since college, so I'm long overdue

thanks for bringing back some good lost memories (funny how periods of time disapear after drinking too many of these..............

would love drinking these during summer BBQs ...... about the only time a six pack would make my head swim a little
