Anyone missing out, can go to the ticket swap board on this site. But don't buy any from the guy chargeing $85.00 for West Palm LAWN seats, they only cost $28.50. I'm guessing the person selling those isn't a true Phan trying to scalp fellow parrot heads. I say flood his e-mail with trash!

Right on Lou-he oughta be made to walk the plank for scalping. Then I hear the one about the Reunion concert selling VIP seats before the TM sale date to anyone who sez they were Dallas Stars e-ticket members whatever that was. And for $95 bucks too. Man o man, can somebody pleeeze give us a break?

Ahoy there Mr. Scott Daley. Yes, folks I'm back!
Go to http:www.calypso.com/UFOTTS
IT IS NOT LEGAL!!!!
In Florida ticket scalping is illegal - broker or not!
You know Parrott Heads - Jen and I can not do this by ourselves. If you want the tickets at the asking price you have to get rid of the TICKET SCALPERS. The only way to do this is by a National Ban on ticket scalping because of the internet and the fact that so few states have adopted internet jurisdiction laws.
It takes just a minute to visit the above site and zip off e-mails to your state and US reps. All of the tools are there, even sample letters that you can copy and change for your own preferences.
Be a Phriend and lend a Phin!
Thanks!

I needed to go to the show bad, so I got mine through our Parrot Head club, paid face value. Many others did battle with ticketmaster and won.
To each his own, but if caught selling in Florida for over $1.00 over face I'm pretty sure it's illegal.
Old Hippy
As long as there is demand for over-priced tickets (folks like Scott), it's gonna be a tough fight. Fins Up!

I have to toss my couple of cents in here. First of all, Jimmy typically plays venues which are less than 20000 seats. Obviously, these markets are good because the sellouts continue to ring up. Face value plus BS charges make each ticket near 70 bucks. Sure lawn seats are closer to 35 or so. I don't know about you, but If I have a choice to spend 70 to sit in the lower level behind the stage or 150 to see the show, My answer is obvious. Lets face it, scalpers, brokers, whatever you call them, are simply out to make a buck. I am sure that most of these people haven't heard song one from JB. Is that their fault. I remember shelling out $80 bucks for TWO tickets to an otherwise sold out Eric Clapton show, The seats were in the clouds but I could see and it was truly amazing. As I look through my JB stubs. Here's a quick summary. $120 per for terrible reserves at the Hollywood Bowl, $50 per for lawn seats, FREE (won contest singing) $65 per for the upper deck at Jones Beach $500 per for a mediocre New Years Eve and $250 per for an intimate setting show. I poked and poked on tm.com to get 4 in Ft Lauderdale. The fact remains that there are some of us who WANT to see JB and trolling the parking lot looking for the golden ticket or hanging out at the box office waiting for the "released seats" seriously hinders the party experience! Hey, I'll camp out and I'll ping the heck out of "their" website but if I have a choice between $70 bucks online for behind the stage and $150 to sit out front, here's 300 for two. No one says hey, "Go buy those tickets for 200 bucks" You do it because of the simple thing we learn on day 1 of business school called "Supply and Demand" Besides, who are the REAL criminals here? Remember the shows with prices like $21.50, $18.50, $15.00 or less? $21.50 wouldn't even get you a shirt at a Buffett show. How come nobody complains about the $30.00 they spend on a shirt that wears out and shrinks weeks after you buy it. Don't get me wrong I would happily rather spend $70 on "legit" tickets than $200 on someone else's but if that's the difference between getting in and staying home. I'm in. And sure..It's illegal but so is speeding and all of us do it once in awhile. I value the fact that I share opinions with some of you and am 180 out from some of you. Please don't take it personally
FINS UP!

PH Tom:
Didn't you post somewhere else around here about how much $ you spent on JB concert tix? I seem to remember you for some reason.
Anyway...
Scalpers are not in their illegit business to make "a buck", they're in it to make more than a 100% profit on what they paid for each ticket.
I think I do remember you....YES!! I saw you post on the "bootlegs" section and I got you confused with that St. Somewhere character just now (sorry for that).
I really don't think I would pay the kind of exorbitant prices you're speaking of. Here's what I paid for last year...
> 2 tickets/gas/lodging at Alpine Valley=$150
> 2 tickets/gas/lodging at Riverbend=$150
> getting to eat dinner with Jim and Peter Mayer before last Tuesdays Christmas concert just outside Chicago AND sit up front to see my friend play her cello onstage WITH Jim and Peter Mayer=$10+gas and a rental car.
this Feb...
> 2 tix/gas/lodging at Greensboro=$250
> 2 tix/gas/lodging at WPB=$300 (includes lawnseats and a room at party central aka: Holiday Inn "full of surgeons")
The only concert T I ever bought was from the Banana Wind tour because I liked the design. I get my other T's from the Cocotel, they're still a little salty, but not as much as the shirts at the venues (and they're usually better looking and they don't shrink for a few years).
I've never paid more than $50 for a Buffett ticket and I don't plan to unless it's right up front and face value.
and no offense taken, hope you feel the same.

I'll say it one more time folks: How bad do YOU want to see Jimmy Buffett? And by the way, there are licensed ticket brokers in FL that can legally charge more than face value. Check the facts people. It's easier for me to make more money than it is for me to SEE Jimmy Buffett! Does anyone get it?- Mr. Scott

We get it. If YOU want to see him that bad. Then please feel free to purchase your tickets from a legalized scalper. It is each persons choice how much they are willing to pay. I and a few others posted here were lucky enough to get our seats through TM and the only add on was the service charge.
Do you know someone in the ticket business by chance?

Yes I do know a local ticket broker, but I don't get any breaks. It's all supply and demand. That's what I love about this country! The ticket master near me decided not to have a lottery drawing, so it was first come first served! Screwed again! I have lots of ticket bastard stories. I'll get tickets thru the local Parrothead club for the local show, but if I'm going out of town I take what I can get, however I can get it! By the way Lou, welcome to Florida, and I hope y'all have a blast in West Palm.- Mr. Scott

I will only be going to the Tampa show. I was in West Palm for the Dec 11 99 show and had wayyyy too much fun! I did get to see J.B. in Tampa up close at a rally for Al Gore last Nov 1. That was wierd, because not everyone there was a Buffett fan! It was free too!If anyone out there wants a ticket from that event, send me an e-mail. I have two extra tickets to the Tampa show, the bidding will begin now( just kidding!).I will probably hold them until the day of the show, and then sell them( at cost) to some parrotheads that really need 'em bad. My fin is up!- Mr. Scott

cott Daley: I encourage you to please go to our web site at http://www.calpyso.com/UFOTTS and check YOUR facts.
Volcano: Yes it's a tough battle, but I know you know all about tough battles from what I have seen posted here and about and my prayers are with you each and every day.
The battle is the internet and apathy. If we could get a National ban on ticket scalping that would solve all. I have been in contact with the Michigan Attorney General to get something done, but until the Michigan legislature passes Jurisdictional laws or the U.S. legislatures (which is in "Committee" right now) pass jurisdictional laws - we are pretty much screwed.
And it is not only concerts. The PGA Tour is a regular visitor at the UFOTTS site and we are working with a senator from MI who has the Michigan Motor Speedway in his jurisdiction.
Jen from UFOTTS who is a resident of Georgia was instrumental in helping get a recent bill that would allow scalping in GA vetoed - you can see the Govenor's letter to her at the site.
Were working hard at this for the benefit of all.
Sorry Scott, but ticket scalpers prey off the hard work of others and gouge the public of their hard earned money by gobbling up tickets that Joe Public could otherwise buy at the price the artist intended Joe Public (or Jane - sorry ladies) to pay. The Scalper then turns around and sells it at a huge profit! And what work did they do? (altho they took a bath on Streisand tickets that no one wanted - thought that served them right!)
Okay off my bandstand now. If you want to know how Scalpers get the tickets go to UFOTTS it's all there. Our many thanks to our many supporters!!!!!!!!!

Old Hippie- you are living in a dreamworld! Wake up , smell reality, then try and find something worthwhile to do with yor spare time. I already have MY facts straight thank you. You'll NEVER get a national ban on anything. You are basically just wasting your time. Why don't you try some charity work, and THEN maybe you'll feel better. I know it works for me! Try not to be such a ticket nazi. Alot of hard working people depend on brokers to get them tickets because they are working and maybe don't have the time to wait & try to get tickets from ticket bastard. How do you think people are getting tickets for the superbowl this weekend? They sure as hell aren't getting them from ticket bastard! If you try to fight this, I hope you have lots and lots of money and time to waste. ME personally, I'd rather waste my time and money seeing Jimmy Buffett however I can. Real parrotheads do that kind of stuff. And by the way, what's prayer got to do with it? It's ALL about money! do you get it yet hipsters?
