and the recycled oil isnt as great of an idea as everyone thinks,it is not as good for the engines, causing higher maintenance in most cases.
and my bitching at hippies accomplishes one thing,it irritates the hell out of hippies

I wasn't aware of that but I am aware that there are many other alternates for fuel but our government seemingly isn't interested in pursuing those.
You aren't irritating me one bit, you're only showing your ignorance of what you percieve "hippies" to be and further demonstrating how extremely close minded you are.

i never understood why "hippies" had such bad connotations?? whats wrong w/ hippies?? If i was a hippie or former hippie, that would be something i'd be proud of. And Jahfin, why are you so offended to be considered one?

Where did I ever say I was a "hippie" or that I was offended to be one? I don't believe in labels like "redneck", "hippie", "yuppie", etc. but sometimes they are a necessary evil (like when trying to describe music). Personally, I prefer "human being".

I am not angry in the least, that is your misguided perception of my post. I'm only saying I see my fellow human beings as just that. There's nothing angry at all about that.

I DIDNT SAY YOU WERE A HIPPIE,DID I?AGAIN YOU JUMPED TO CONCLUSIONS.
AS FAR AS ALTERNATIVE FUELS GO,MOST OF WHAT YOU READ IS ENVIRONMENTALIST PROPAGANDA.MOST OF THE ALT FUELS THAT THEY CLAIM ARE AVAILABLE RIGHT NOW ARE NOT TRUELY VIABLE OPTIONS.THEY CAUSE OTHER EMMISIONS PROBLEMS IN SOME CASES,DAMAGE EQUIPMENT IN OTHERS AND MOST DONT PROVIDE SUFFICIENT POWER TO MOVE ANYTHING BUT THE SMALLEST VEHICLES.
AND JUST IN CASE YOU ARE WONDERING HOW I KNOW THIS IT'S BECAUSE I'M A LICENSED ALTERNATIVE FUEL VEHICLE TECH WITH FORD.

You're supposed to say "I didn't say you were a hippie, did I? You couldn't be farther from the truth."

That wasn't my point, I was just clearing up the fact that Tomm hadn't referred to me as a hippie, it was DsilCaribe. I've had about enough of your smart ass mouth.

[/quote]ELECTRIC IS FINE FOR LITTLE CARS LIKE THE FORD THINK,NOT ENOUGH POWER OR RANGE FOR ANYTHING BIGGER AT THIS POINT.THE CORN BASED FUELS ARE HAVING THEIR OWN SET OF PROBLEMS RIGHT NOW AND PROPANE AND METHANE POWERED VEHICLES TRIED TO CATCH ON OVER 5 YEARS AGO WHEN I GOT CERTIFIED.THE MUNICIPALITIES DO STILL USE THEM BUT THEY AGAIN HAVE SOME ISSUES,SAFETY NOT BEING ONE OF THEM AS MOST WOULD EXPECT.THEY ARE NOT BOMBS ON WHEELS LIKE MOST PEOPLE THINK.REPAIRS FOR THEM ARE VERY EXPENSIVE.HYBRID VEHICLES ARE THE MOST PROMISING RIGHT NOW,I JUST GOT CERTIFIED ON THE HYBRID FORD ESCAPE,IT IS INTERESTING BUT WE'LL HAVE TO SEE HOW THEY DO ONCE WE START SEEING THEM FOR AWHILE.

I've had a bunch of hybrid cars over the years. In fact all of my old trucks were hybrids...they burned half gasoline and half motor oil

Should I start whining now because I've been chastized? Nah, I like to think I'm a little more thick skinned that that. That's probably why my clothes have gotten tighter lately.
