What is so wrong with being a liberal? Was it not a liberal president who created the middle class? Was it not a liberal president who started the Civil Rights Act? Was it not a liberal president who thought the needy needed a helping hand? If not for liberal presidents, our mentally handicapped citizens would not be properly taken care of. Being a liberal is not a bad thing. Neither is being conservative, if that is what you believe in. Should we really stoop to "name calling" the very people who have showed courage by running for office. In MHO, I think this kind of dirty politics is killing democracy for future generations. Who in their right mind will want to run for office if only to have their courage and beliefs belittled?

(whatever that is!)
Sorry, captainjoe. :-?
No problem. One would think with the seriousness of this election people would want to talk about issues and not just steer the disussion into a free for all. Maybe I should have gone to a more serious debate forum to ask my question.

I posed the question because I thought the President was skirting around the issues when all he had to say that his opposition is a liberal. Liberal is not a bad word. Even John Kerry skirted around the issues. I quess I am just tired of the politics of today. We need to get back to issues and not 30 second sound bites or what works in a focus group in Ohio. When Abe Lincoln and Stephan Douglas debated, their debates would last five to six hours and people would come from all over to listen and join in in the debate.

Anyways,

i answered your question before i went off topic :-?
