Why do you need to live in the same state as your parents? I apologize for my comment if they are elderly or need special care, but I dont even live in the same state as my parents.

i do alot of stuff for them and am not comfortable being too far away in case anything ever happened.
i have also been helping to take care of my grandfather until he died early this summer
