Summer Changes
(CILCIA)

Roxanne Jones Summer 1998

I took off for some afternoon golf,
hoping the boss wouldn't care.
He got a bug, called me out on the rug,
now I can't get him out of my hair.

Well I didn't ponder my fate for too long,
I just slipped right on out the side door.
Ran into a guard now the windows are barred
and my clubs collect dust on the floor.

It's the changes in weather, the sounds of the blender
I can't stand being inside.
The fairways and tees are a calling to me
but the man says my work is behind.

Staring at the screen, dreaming of the greens
sure don't get the job done.
But the sunshine does beckon and I guess I just reckon
that golfing would be much more fun.

Ohh why do I have to keep working,
Is the lottery so far outta reach?
Wanna spend my days sunnin, spend my nights funnin.
Want to live out my life on the beach.

It's the changes in weather, the sounds of the blender
can't stand being inside.
The fairways and tees are a calling to me
but the man says my work is behind.

Thinking bout quit-en, I know I've been bitten
by that bug called the summertime blues.
Though the numbers I'm playing haven't been paying,
still hoping to make tonights news.

Consider this my resignation.
I've finally had me some luck.
I'm gonna get blotto, I hit the lotto!
Now how should I spend my 5 bucks.
