We made the 3 hour trek to the Tallahassee performance
Friday night. It was phenominal. The mention of "musicianship"
in ETP's post is exactly the comment I've made to friends in
the email I sent out already. Percussion and flutes, violins and
bass, guitars and voices... all extraordinary. And the show we
went to was FREE! The Epiphany Lutheran Church brought PM
in as a gift to their congregation! What a wonderful gift!!!
There was apparently a change-up in the performers for this
show, and Jim was not in the mix. But we got something even
more exciting... Peter's 15 year old son played guitar in a few
of the numbers, and it was beautiful to see the talent and spirit
that is being passed down. (A picture is waiting to be posted in
the gallery here on BN.)
The new DVD was available that night (for the first time, I
believe) and so I'm now reliving the experience in my living
room in my bathrobe. The inserted commentary by Peter and Jim
about their upbringing in India (with pictures!) and footage of the
rehearsals is a huge plus. My holiday is certainly complete!

The show in Charlotte on the 16th was amazing!!! Peter and the rest of the band played their hearts out with total appreciation from the audience!!! We had many "newbies" who were absolutely blown away with this whole experience. They were still talking about it today after church. The bass change came in Charlotte as Marc T. joined the rest of the band. We missed Jim, but Marc did a great job filling in. I love every song they performed, but agree the fabulous rendition of "Go Tell It On the Mountain" was a wonderful arrangement. I also enjoyed a special acoustic rendition of a personal favorite, "This Christmas". I can't wait to get my copy of the dvd...happy holidays everyone!!!

"Go Tell It On the Mountain" was incredible in Nashville, too, with special guests Mac McAnally, Chris Walters (piano) and Jeff Coffin (saxophone) joining in. Brendan Mayer, Peter's son, also joined the band on guitar for a couple of songs, and he's very good!
I was totally blown away.... What a tremendous show.... I agree with ETP and Des; the musicianship in this group is just absolutely amazing. We're blessed to be able to see a show like this!

Carry on as you know they would want you to do. ~~JB, dedication to Tim Russert

I eagerly await my DVD, as I've yet to see the live show. (Stars and Promises that is... I enjoyed the PMG for the 1st time in Louisville this summer.) I had a conflict the night of the Chicago area show last year, and there wasn't one this year.
You’re still grinning, we’re still winning, nothing left to say
I’m still gliding as I go flying down this endless wave

OMG...Nashville was INCREDIBLE!!! Peter was at his peak, I think Ive seen him somthing like 5 times, and this was by far his best. He was just so into the music. Not only him, but the whole band was into it! The music was really coming from deep inside. Also, his guest apperances were AWSOME!!! Mac is incredibly tallanted, and it was great to finally see all 3 memebers of PM on the same stage playing together.
The new additions to the show, A Ninta Nana and the best version of Go Tell it on the Mountain Ive EVER heard, were AWSOME!!! What an amazing show!!!
It was also kewl that he brought out India and Brendan to play with him, and the Tenn. Choral Academy were GREAT!!!
Oh yea...and perhaps the best part...GOIN TO THE SHOW WITH SGH!!!
What an AWSOME time, if you ever get the chance to see Peter in Nashville, do NOT pass it up!!! Be it a Christmas show or not, it will be awsome!
