If BuffettNews = Walmart
and
Walmart = Inbred
then
BuffettNews = Inbred.
*yikes smiley*
Does that syllogism work?

By the time you read an article in any publication, it is old news by then.... Just think about it for a moment....... As the true die-hard Buffett fans, we get all of the inside info on nearly everything from Buffettnews.... (ticket sales, concerts, all Buffett info, etc.....) This huge Phlock is the heart beat of rock and roll.................

Billboard and Pollstar. Plus if you have friends who have access to SoundScan (thanks Meisinger!)
RS stopped being a significant music magazine about 15 years ago.
Billboard is a weekly publication that doesn't have much editorial lead time so it's usually pretty up to date on industry stuff but honestly the coconut telegraph in the music industry is pretty quick and there's even a couple of message board websites for the business that tend to get the scoops.

I finally had enough of the teenybopper covers about a year ago and didn't renew my subscription probably for the first time since the 80s. That isn't to say they don't ever publish any worthwhile articles because they do (the Dylan one in the current issue is a fine example) but Rolling Stone and Billboard (which obviously leans more towards industry-oriented news) are far from the only games in town when it comes to worthwhile music magazines. I also enjoy Harp, Paste, Relix, No Depression and quite a few others out there on the shelves these days. As far as online, I really miss SonicNet who had one of the most comprehensive web sites devoted to music (of all kinds) that I've ever seen. Most of the time Pitchfork isn't too bad either, Clink Magazine is another.Key Lime Lee wrote:RS stopped being a significant music magazine about 15 years ago.
