VEGAS!!!!!!!!!!!.....not vegas

Post by tnsna »

:-? I am a little confused. The Vegas concert this year seemed to lack the intensity of years past. Maybe is was my seat location or because I was completely intoxicated(that usually is not a variable). I was just wondering if other fans felt this way. If not....I stand corrected.

Weird, he finished with Southern Cross??? :-?

Two words...Two shows. And to make it worse over two weekends. Oh, and the fact that this will be the third (fourth?) time this year he's played there.

I thought the Flamingo show in January was great!!! This one just seemed to lack energy. I am still confused by Southern Cross at the end of the show!!!!!!!!!

I thought the show was great...and Southern Cross is a Vegas tradition. Who cares that he ended with it? I fail to see why it causes confusion.

Methinks people are just trying to find something to pick at instead of just going and enjoying the show. It sure seemed like everyone I saw was having a great time, as was Jimmy.

I'm looking forward to having even more fun this weekend. :D

I noticed right off the bat that the crowd at the show was subdued, even had a conversation with my friends about it...the show was good, especially the great big flying shark...

The street party was boring I thought...Margaritaville Cafe was just buzzing though....tip to those of you that want a seat....make a reservation for lunch/dinner or get their early and stay.....! I was there at 11:00am and it was not too crowded...went back at 2:00 and it was standing room only with an hour wait for a table...

Lots of great stuff to purchase....buy early as well...lines were very long.

It was my third Buffett show @ the MGM Grand and I thought it was just as phun and entertaining as all of the others; the band seemed excited to be back on stage, Jimmy seemed to have alot of energy; and as far as the crowd; they were pretty damn into it where I was sitting...

I'm not a great judge for this, because it was my first Buffett concert ( I have been de-flowered, Mom would be so proud :o ) But that was the most fun I've had without a barrel of monkeys since I was 14 and discovered things my mom told me would make me go blind!!!!!

The entire weekend was unreal. We hit the Tommy rocker party on Friday and that was a riot (met a few BNrs). The street party was pretty cool, (with the passers by stumbling in with that WTF?? stunned look on their faces. Margaritaville was packed and the whole atmosphere was exciting. The MGM pre-show had the energy of a bunch of drunken 21 year olds at their first strip club. And the show was one of the most energetic concerts I've ever been to.

If you are telling me this one was subdued, then spank me silly and send me to the next one 'cause I can't imagine it being better than that, but I can't wait to find out. This is only the first of many!!!!

The crowd was definitely subdued at Margaritaville.....not sure why but that party scene just didn't seem to have a whole lot of life to it.

MGM seemed pretty lively though when we made it over there just before 7 and the arena seemed to have decent life to it throughout (although there were some "comps" around us in the first 10 rows who didn't know much about Buffett at all).

The most fun of the weekend though was on Friday nite....the Last Man Standing party was so lively and a ton of phun. If they read this post at all....thanks again to Amy Lee and Doyle Grisham for coming out to help make this party such a success!

I pretty much agree with what Dean said, I think the problem at the M'ville site was that there were a lot of people wandering in off the street that didn't have a clue about what was going on, plus I understand that this was the first pre-concert party there and maybe the word didn't get out to everyone.

The MGM seemed a bit disorganized to me. It was hard to get through the people lined up to buy drinks and it seemed a long walk from the shuttle to the party to the arena. The people around us way up on the side were kinda dead. Some were never standing and some only stood for 1 or 2 songs. Hopefully with better seats for this weekend, it will be a better crowd.

I thought Last Man Standing was outstanding! The LV PH club put on an excellent event. The bands were good, Amy Lee and Doyle were there, drinks were fairly priced ($3 for a beer!, $4 at M'ville party, $5 at MGM party and $7 in the arena). I'm really glad we went!

I thought MGM wasn't having a pre-concert party this year. Where was it held?

The drinks at MGM were insanely priced and the ritas on the rocks were awful, I got more of a buzz from the sugar than the 2 splashes of tequila they threw in. If you are going this weekend, you should definitely byob to supplement.

BEG....didn't mean to spank your beaver.....or otter

I was just curious if anyone else thought that the crowd was a bit subdued and thought it was a little strange to end with Southern Cross!! Why is that song a Vegas tradition?? I have been going to Vegas shows for about 7 years or so and these were my worst seats and in my opinion I thought the show was a little lacking. I am trying to figure out if it was my seat location that made me feel this way.
