I feel like I haven't seen you in a million years. Speaking of years, how old are you now? 30 yet? Happy belated birthday darlin'. Hope to see you soon.Johnny wrote:Yeah, you left too early. You missed Trucker getting to see a piece of history!bufitonmybmw wrote:Well, that was an interesting show!

I'll never invite the balcony girls to Chicago in December to see Peter again, but that's ok cuz they said they wouldn't come anyway!!![]()

Cindi got in Friday... sun was shining so the 30 degrees didn't seem too bad. She kept commenting how she likes the midwest in the winter, it was nice, the cold air was refreshing!![]()
Friday was all good!
We left my area around 11:00a to pick up Boop on Saturday, due in at 12:30p... normally about an hourish drive, but left a bit early due to the forecast. The icy snow started pretty good around noon... the roads were just terrible down that way... no sign of plows or salt trucks... accidents had traffic to a smidge faster than stopped... barely pressing the gas pedal would spin my tires and slide me sideways...
BUT, Boop landed about 12:40p, and we made it to the airport about 4p, to our hotel about 4:45p, took a taxi to Cheeseburger in Paradise about 5:30p (the plan was to be there at 4p, after my girls swam in the hotel pool for a few hours), enjoyed dinner and drinks to take my edge off, and we piled into Johnny's (Russler of the Beach Bum Band) SUV to the church! THANK YOU JOHNNY!!! There were 7 of us in 5 seats, but we made it there and back, safe and sound!Parked cars had an inch of ice caked on them, the ground was a sheet of ice, and the trees were all crystallized! Cindi left 80 degree Tampa for this!

The show was well worth it though!! Peter sounded great, his band members are phenomenal musicians... R Scott Bryan on drums/percussion, Marc Holland on the flutes, and Marc Torlina on the bass were in the band 2 years ago when I saw them when it didn't snow, and it was the first I'd seen Chris Walters on piano and keyboards, and Maggie Estes on violin and mandolin. All simply amazing, and some really GREAT different arrangements to the songs.
Stars and Promises, the songs as well as Peter's words in between them, really touches your soul and your spirit.
I don't know if they do it at all of the shows, but they had 50 recordings of the show available to purchase right afterwards, with a portion of the proceeds going to charity. There was another surprise as well, that I 1st heard of when I read the program, so I might share that in another thread.
Peter and the band must have help from above to make it from midwestern/northern city to city every winter. God Bless them all for bringing this gift to us!

What a great night! We had a blast! Thanks for the pics Cindy! We had such a great time!
Who's going to CIP this weekend? We are planning on it (I have a babysitter and a back up sitter) with our gaggle of friends that we brought last time (and maybe more....they're all hooked on Johnny!).
Cindy - the guy that was with us that is on the dance floor pic that you took in the black hawaiian shirt, that was my secret santa at work. Easy pick eh?
Hope to see you all there Saturday!

I'm hoping . . . It'll be the last chance this year. I've yet to see them and I try pretty hard every time they somewhere I want to go to get there. OF COURSE this Saturday my wifes best friend wants to go out for her birthday. They are anti-Buffett for whatever reason which is liekly why they lead miserable and depressing lives. Either way I WANT TO GO.
With the show starting at 9pm when would one expect it to end?

Nicole- what did you end up doing at work for him?
Wish I had a secret Santa
My 16 year old daughter, Melissa, and her boyfriend will be @ CIP with me...nothing like hanging out with your teenager on a Saturday night!
(I think I guilted her into it when I told her about YOUR daughter hanging with Dave!)
Your coaster-flinging friend left for Dubai last week. He will be back for 10 days over Christmas then back there for good on Jan. 4th..

DEAR LORD HEAR MY PRAYER . . . .
Dear Santa,
this Xmas I want but one thing . . . to not have a dman thing to do so I can see The Beach Bum Band on 12/22. They stand for good music and quality drankin' which is what it takes to get through these holidays.

Dear Matt:
Wives NEVER have sinister plots.
And you must not have read the fine print in your marriage vows...your life can NEVER be reclaimed and/or include enjoyment!
