Ashley Simpson caught!

Post by msu#1 »

Hey did anyone see that Ashley simpson finally got caught as the fraud, tone deaf lip syncer that see is last night. funny as hell, and then she came back on and had the nerve to blame her band for playing the wrong song when everyone can clearly hear the wrong vocal track start.

it could've been the fact that they accidently playedthe background track with words instead of without...cuz as soon as I heard the music I could tell it was a recording. It's never that blatent. I personally think it was an honest mistake

Assuming that's what it was... Geffen claims it was supposed to be a backing percussion track and instead the album track played... that IS conceivable...

but even if it wasn't, lipsynching to a prerecorded performance during a television broadcast is not unique. It's less common now than it used to be, but it's not unique.

There are two reasons:

1) It may have been used as a doubling track. Often times when you record a song, you will record a second track singing the same line because it helps to strengthen the sound of the original voice. So a track of her singing the song would be mixed with her singing live to add more definition to it.

2) If not, live sound on television is notoriously sketchy. In some ways it's the worst of both worlds... when you see a show live, it's mixed to sound good in the audience, but it may not sound good recorded. When you hear a recording, it's made to sound good on the recording, but if you listened while it was being recorded, it might sound pretty poor. It may simply be that, for any number of reasons, they wanted to make sure her voice sounded good on national television. It has less to do with her voice and more to do with the acoustics of a television broadcast.

3) oh, and the third reason may have been voice issues... I know she had some reflux-related problems when she was rehearsing for her tour... if acid reflux is bad enough, it can actually irritate your vocal folds and cause your voice to fatigue more easily.... Originally that's what they thought was happening with me...

If you've ever saw her show you would know cant sing, ever time they would show her singing live they would dub in the album track over it but leave the live audio from the band, when she was singing in the studio it was very apparent she cant sing, jessica can wail, ashley cant

Most of the pop-stars lip-synch when they are live. Years ago, I knew someone who worked on stage at Alpine Valley. He told me about the NKOTB and their lip-synch.

Main reason for it would be that they spend so much time dancing on stage, there is no way they could clearly sing. They'd be too out of breath, or the jerky movements would affect the sound coming out of their noise-holes.

just wondering (since i've only heard one song by her) why is she so talented?? Does she write, sing live, play an instrument, sing without help of machines, etc??

interesting, if somewhat cynical, view from 17 y/o:

"they all lip sync. they're too busy dancing."

maybe accurate, maybe not, but that's the perception.

As a casual fan of Garth Brooks, he ran up and down the stage all night long and he did not lip sync (to the best of my knowledge)
