Best SEC place to tailgate for football?

Post by Anon The Pirate »

Live in the Midwest and want to come down to a SEC football game next season. I know about the Florida/Georgia game in Jax, but what other college towns have the best tailgating on some Saturday? The game we come to will depend alot on where the tailgating would be the most fun. Thanks for any help.

The FL/UGA game is the "World's Largest Cocktail Party". If you are going to one party, that would be near the top of the list.

If you want a steady party week-in and week-out, try Auburn or Ole Miss. I hear UGA is pretty good to, but the cops around the area are pretty sketchy.

What an exciting time. I'm just thankful that traffic will be going South on 75 instead of 85.

Any Tennessee game in Knoxville is an awesome tailgating experience. There are parking lots full of people esp on the river that will more than welcome you to party with the. Tennessee has one of the biggest stadiums in the country too, so being with 109,000 people that are out to have a blast is an incredible experience. 8)

No offense, but I'd have to disagree. I grew up in TN so I've been to my share of UT games.

Knoxville is so big that all the partying is spread out. I was up there for the UT/Auburn game this year and was a little disappointed. We went to a couple different spots, but you spend more time walking than you do partying. :(

In UT's defense, I will say that if you party with the UT Navy, that is quite an experience.

we have season tickets to the University of Alabama so i'm a little partial....we do the motorhome thing and have a great time. there are also tons of the people on the quad tailgating before and after the games. by far the craziest fans i have seen yet goes hands down to the LSU fans - those people know how to party!

I disagree with the Auburn choice. Auburn is in the middle of nowhere. Fla/Ga game would be a first choice, second would be LSU, third would be Alabama, Fourth Ole Miss has a nice spot in the Grove.

Alabama ALWAYS has great tailgating experiences, regardless of what game it is that day. That's my opinion on it, anyways :D
What is it all about...? I just don't know, but I can't go back home.
