Tour Merchandise Fortells Future Concert Dates?

Post by adamw »

At the San Diego concert I bought a hat and shirt. Both say Jimmy Buffett License to Chill 2004-05 (I am at work and don't have them with me so that may not be the EXACT words, but it does say 2004 and 2005). I would expect that this means he will have future dates into the new year. However I did hear his 10/23 pre-concert interview where he said that was the end of the tour. My Tiki Time hat also said 2003-2004 and he played dates in January in San Jose, Anaheim and Hawaii. What do all of you think?

well adam, as you may remember, jimmy had to reschedule the northern and southern california dates of sept 03 because of a family emergerncy. therefore the january 04 dates in san jose and anaheim. as for haiwaii, i think that was on the schedule in the beginning, or may have been added later.

Mason, I think you missed the point. With respect to Tiki Time, maybe I should add that I bought the hat in either Anaheim or Hawaii (I can't remember which, I was at both the Anaheim and Honolulu shows and bought items at each) in 2004. The point is: while saying the tour is over the merchandise indicates that it goes into 2005. Either that is incorrect or there going to be future tour dates, going into 2005. I guess we are only left to speculate, for now.

At the Oct 16th Vegas show, I swear I heard JB say he's going to be going to Hawaii again, however, that could be for just a vacation....it would be nice though....

Traditionally, aren't the Florida February shows a continuation of the previous tour?

Well when I picked up a tour tshirt Oct 16th at the MGM gift shop to look at it I noticed that on the tour date listings it didn't even have the 3 west coast(ish) shows listed on it. :-?

I have a Tiki Time shirt that a friend bought gave me from the Dallas show, and it had 2, or 3 Florida stops listed on it. Those stops never happened. I'm sure they probably print these shirts before the tour starts with a list, that may not be set in stone.
