This is a good album, kind of like "Volcano" but better. The song "It's My Job" sucks though, perhaps the only one that's not up to par.

"If you don't want it printed...don't do it".
This disc is strong from beginning to end. "Coconut Telegraph" and "The Weather is Here, Wish You Were Beautiful" are the two upbeat songs on here and are terrific stories. The rest of the disc is extraordinarily mellow and is a bit of an open door into the more serious side of jimmy's psyche. "Incommunicado", a song about getting back in touch with yourself, reflecting on your own life and mortality. It's a song that really makes you think, much like "It's My Job". Originally written and recorded by Mac Mcanally, it becomes an excellent cover tune that has the same flavor as "Cowboy in the Jungle" and "Stranded on a Sandbar". I used to work on a loading dock and when the snow would come blowing in and the bone-chilling cold along with it, this song often came to mind. "Growing Older But Not Up" has a tongue-in-cheek feeling to it that can fill you with some nervous laughter about personal injury. One of the best songs to watch fireworks to is "Stars Fell on Alabama"--even if you aren't in Alabama. The song was written 12 years before Jimmy was born and to date is the only song Jimmy has recorded that is older than he is. The fact that he recorded it shows a heightening in his maturity level. This quality continues to be displayed in "Island" where loneliness abounds and in "Little Miss Magic" where the reality of fatherhood becomes an epiphany.
One day I will learn to play the guitar and should my wife ever have a daughter this is the first song I will play for her and in her room there will be a slowly revolving ceiling fan.

ditto hph. "Incommunicado" is also a great song about getting away from it all. "Island" is one of my all-time favorites and I sometimes refer to my own daughter as "Little Miss Magic". I have a friend whose all-time favorite is "The Weather is Here..." CT took me a while to warm up to but now I love it. Also, what parrot head worth his salt hasn't referenced "Growing Older, But Not Up" at some point.
"It's My Job" does NOT s***. "Math Suks" from BHOTM sucks.

I first bought this album in '96, I think on cassette. It was probably the third album I bought after "Songs" and "feeding Frenzy" I have to say that to this day it is still one of my favorite Buffett albums to this day. There isn't a weak track on this album. "It's My Job" is one of my all time favorites and I am dying to hear it live one day. There isn't a bad song on this whole album.
10 out of 10!!!!!!!!!!!

When my older daughter was very young, oh so many years ago, I rocked her to sleep with this cassette, finishing off with LMM.
