Please don't get me wrong here. I was just trying to help answer the earlier rhetorical question you had. "Religious" people in this country are anti-gay because the bible has told them to be so.

Of course its broad generalizations, but I'm attempting to understand it...
Perhaps you can help me understand how large numbers of people would vote for a President who lies to them... other than broad generalizations, I don't have a good explanation.
Many people believe that Bush didn't lie about the war in Iraq and even though I don't support him I also believed him... and I am educated. .
I'm not talking just about Iraq.... I've watched him blatanly contradict himself and say things that weren't true throughout, and I'm seriously trying to understand why that doesn't bother more people...

You will say that this is no big deal but in fact it is. You personally supported One of only 2 presidents in our entire history that had to be impeached.
Whose to say I would have voted for him after that?
And you're still not helping me to understand...
Because you are as if not more partisan than I am. Are you saying that you did not vote for clinton in 96?
I am not helping you understand because you refuse to Lee. Just like I would refuse to understand how it should be ok for the United States to allow the sanctity of marriage to be diminished.

Which country do you think Jesus would bomb first? . . . Iran or North Korea?
You are kidding aren't you?? If Jesus would pray for people who were torturing them and say "Father forgive them for they know not what they do" what on earth would make you or anyone that has any knowledge of the Bible think that he would bomb either??

And my point is the bible also told them to let God do the judging...

I'm not even remotely mad... it's a democracy....
And if you want to own the fact that the dumb folks won, feel free.
the intellegnce level of the winners was your thoughts not mine, I happen to think that we are very smart and we backed the right candidate, now I am going to celebrate democracy, and you can whine all you want to about the outcome

How would a man who chooses to exploit his children in the p*** business affect your everyday life? Is that ok? How far are we supposed to let our moral fortitude slide in order to be tolerant?
Are you saying that homosexuals are second class citizens? Just because they do not live their life like you, does not mean that we can't be tolerant of them.

According to the bible he has already judged on that particular topic.

They believe that God has judged against it (bible), so they are just following his word.
But they're not - he said he would judge in the end...
"Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is an abomination." Lev. 18:22
you do realize that you are quoting the Old Testament? While I can't quote scripture for scripture without my Bible here isn't there a very specific reason there is an Old and New Testament?

and according to the Bible there is only one sin that is unforgivable.
according to the Bible it is God's place to judge - not man's

Circular logic.
So he's all done judging, and we can just use the bible as our guide and do as we wish... cool.

Are you saying that a child molestor or a petaphile is a second class citizen?
I am saying that we should not mess with an institution that has been and still is a religious one.

Yes, I am kidding. It was ment as a joke because anyone who knows anything about the Bible would know that Jesus said to love everyone. It just strikes me as odd that the Jesus quoting - conservatives are the ones who support the war as a whole.

actually you are partially right. The Bible is the guide on how we are supposed to live and treat people.
What so many people fail to realize that to repent of their sins and be forgiven dosn't mean it's ok to commit the sins over and over and over again

Romans 1:26-27 in the New Testament
Even their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural ones. In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed indecent acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their perversion.

You know you can't start quoting the bible and win, right? Not unless you want to say its okay to stone people.
