I'm planning a trip to the British Virgin Islands in 2005...Was hoping to find someone here at BN that had traveled to the BVIs....
Looking forward to hitting Cane Garden Bay, The Soggy Dollar Bar, etc......So, if you have stories to tell me that would be great...

Been there several times by boat. Busted my a$$ on the tire swing once. And Caldwood's rum factory is a short walk.
You'll have a great time.

Went there for my honeymoon, I loved it. No cruise ships and very laid back. Also very safe and friendly. This was in 1997, but there was a guy everyone called Captain Paul. He drove around in this tricked out van with Mo' Money painted on the side. He would pick up 6 or 8 people and take them to his sailboat and cruise around the BVI's. Great experience and friendly guy. You need to hit Quito's in CGB and Foxy's on Jost Van Dyke. Also, in Road Town, there is a restaurant called C & M's, if I remember the name correctly. All the residents suggest the place, which says a lot. Kind of hard to find, so ask directions. It was the only place I've been where a traffice jam was caused by a goat and donkey which were very reluctant to remove themselves from the middle of the road. I love the BVI's, you'll have a great time.

I went to Jost Van Dyke on my honeymoon but in 1988 and loved it. I went back in 1995 and found it a little bit more developed and still loved it. I'm planning on going back within the next year and I expect I will still love it. What makes it so great is the fact that there are plenty of bars, beaches and wonderful empty spaces. It allows you the chance to be by yourself or with the folks down by Foxy's.
Go, find your own island getaway and have lots of fun.

My family has charted out of North South everytime that we have been there. Everyone there has always treated us great. Just a suggestion.

Jost Van Dyke is a great spot. Two of Foxy's sons have bars on that island also. One is called "One Love" and it is a great little bar in the next cove over from Foxy's. They also just opened up another Foxy's on the opposite end of the island. If you are looking for parties, you have got to stop by the Bomba Shack. It is the place to be for Full Moon parties. Stay away from the mushroom tea. It is an experience. Another place to stop is the Willie T's on Norman Island. That place is a hoot.
Have a great trip.
