Goodman Announces Semi-Retirement

Post by Goodman »

Friends n Neighbors

"New album's old and I'm fresh outta tunes". Times for a Buffett Break; maybe go walkabout.

With Jerry Jeff Walker in NYC next week and a near overdose of JB this summer I need to go on hiatus.

Lot of people think the "Goodman" brand refers to the late & great colloborator of JB- Steve Goodman. Actually there's chatter to the effect that I'm really an accountant for the Goodman Soup & Noodle Company.
I suspect the truth lies in the middle.

The legal suits advise me to reserve the right to revisit and use the tradename at anytime and without prior notice.

I'd like to say I've got "Boats to Build" but actually it's leaves to rake.

See you all very soon and remember that without all of you out there we'd just be talkin to ourselves.

Till we meet again.
I know Jimmy Buffett, Jimmy Buffett is a friend of mine. Son, you're no Jimmy Buffett!

Tell ole Jerry Jeff we say hi and we'll see him at the GRAND in Biloxi!

Goodman Semi Retires

Post by Goodman »

Well to paraphrase Mark Twain- "rumors of my semi-retirement are premature". As you can see the response to the announcement was overwhelming. :-)

Tomorrow I look forward to seeing JB's original mentor Mr. Jerry Jeff Walker @ BBKing's in NYC. I'll do my best to provide a semi- setlist for the many JB/JJW fans out there. One problem, JJW don't generally take requests so if I yell out my favorites they're sure to not get played. Son Django will be there to open for Dad.

Good to be back.

I'll bet he'll do "long ole dusty road" if you call it out ...then again...you may be right. Alright Guy would be a good one.

Wonder if old Scamp ever does "Down In Texas" (LIFE IS GOOD) anymore?

Have a good time.
