Exactly Fplay!!!Four Play wrote:I generally stay out of these discussions, but now kids are involved. Whether you choose to accept it or not, that is a big part of what our troops are fighting to protect.
I guess a cane is not official GI issue.rednekkPH wrote:They musta been afraid you'd break a hip.PHBeerman wrote:I tried on September 12th, 2001. There is a max age as well.a1aara wrote:Ithink the best way to support thr troops is to enlists, if you are old enough and able.
And it costs too much to retrofit a wheelchair ramp into a Humvee.PHBeerman wrote:I guess a cane is not official GI issue.rednekkPH wrote:They musta been afraid you'd break a hip.PHBeerman wrote:I tried on September 12th, 2001. That statement is incomplete. You can support our troops whether you are for the war or against it.DsilCaribe wrote:as the great war author Tim O'Brein said at a recent speech of his that I attended,
"If you support the War in Iraq, then go fight in the War in Iraq. If you support it, are in good shape and are old enought to fight in it, but don't fight in it, than you are a hypocrite"
And there is also the case of people being too old to enlist as well. Just because you're not in favor of a war dosn't mean you can't support the troups. I think the first time I was actually embarassed to be an American was when the Vietnam pow's returned home and they were spit on and yelled it by the war protesters. Protest the war - be against the war but you don't have take it out on the men just doing what they are commanded to do.Four Play wrote:That statement is incomplete. those weren't his exact words, but they were something like that. Maybe he said "of able age". But in my opinion, "too old" is when you are physically unable to do what is needed. That differs from person to person. But really, it is hypocritical for young active 22 year old lets say, to support the war but not fight in it.ph4ever wrote:And there is also the case of people being too old to enlist as well. I agree. I think people are just hyper sensitive right now. Plus, having just gone through the election cycle has people still fired up. My response is "Even anti-war hippies from the past are supporting the troops" See John Kerry.a1aara wrote:I agree with ph4ever.
I don't think I've heard anyone bad mouthing the tropps as far as the Iraqi war goes? I've heard pleny of people bad mouthing Bush and the reasons for the war, but not the troops. Just wondering.
