Maybe he'll just swap out the "normal" chicago/GW weekends. I'm sure it depends more on the Cubs schedule than on anything else. I don't think GW-ers will moan too much as long as he comes back to GW SOME weekend next summer.... :o :o

(and we still have the damned golf down the street from GW on Labor Day weekend, so that may be a factor, too.....  )
Cubs at home Aug. 26-31 then not back until Sept. 12. I don't know when LD weekend is in 2005. Does it fit in between those dates?

I just figured there would be discontent since some folks feel that weekend is sacred.

and the Cubs are at home during the "normal" Chicago show weekend, so I think it's fairly likely that if it happens, Jimmy could schedule Chicago/Wrigley for LD weekend. Let the GW moaning begin....

After missing GW last year, I personally think it's WAY more important that Jimmy play GW on SOME weekend, and I won't fall over dead if it's not LD weekend.

Prediction: If Jimmy plays Wrigley, I predict it WILL be LD weekend.

Unless he played Wrigley the weekend of 19-21 Aug (Cubs schedule that week is ??), LD weekend is the last weekend opportunity before the middle of September.

But you got to spend Labor Day weekend on LI this year and see Jimmy at Jones Beach. 8)

Jimmy's played Tinley Park the past couple years in August, but before then he used to alternate with Alpine (June & August)

I mean, it's all speculation... I doubt I go even if it does happen.

I think it would be awesome, just for the novelty of it, and the kick Jimmy would get out of it! Tinley's a bit of a hassle for me to get to, so I'd happily give Wrigley a chance in it's place! We can tailgate on the el on the way down!

How about a minor league baseball stadium tour? Starting with Knights Castle? Then play the Charleston Riverdogs, Greensboro Bats, Asheville Tourists, Myrtle Beach Whatever-They-Are, Capital City Bombers (Columbia).

I built that stadium in Columbia. Tried to get Jimmy there in 1991. had to settle for Ray Charles. He played Engel Stadium in Chattanooga in 1989 (the year after I left there)

I think this would be a great concert, and this is coming from a CUBS HATER (Die Hard Sox fan). But the thought of having Jimmy play at a ballpark excites me! I wasn't able to go to Bean Town, but this would be a perfect way to cap off the summer at the Biggest Singles Bar in Chicago listening to my favorite artist ever!
So, where would we tailgate? :pirate:
There are pay lot's (RED lot's) aroung Wrigley, that you would be able to tailgate in if you wanted. Probably could not be as elaborate as we are used to, but could definantley have some chairs and coolers. The bars will be a blast. My wife has already said we are getting roof top tickets if this happens. Who interested, a BN rooftop party.

Tail gate in Lincoln park and take the bus over. Or the park and ride lots at Devry and other places might be hospitiable. There is always "The Cell" even if the Sox are home, NOBODY FREAKIN' GOES

Sox fans come out on Mondays and Tuesdays :) I would definently be down for a PH rooftop party, then I actually wouldn't have to step foot in Wrigley Field :)

White Sox marketing genius's have eliminated half price Mondays and Tuesday, they will be just another 10,000 like the rest of the week

Actually Halfprice Monday is still in effect this year. They cut out Tuesdays. I talked to my ticket rep the other day about this nasty rumor.

I know that this is a "Wrigley Field" Discussion, but having Buffet play at Citizens Bank Park could be pretty interesting. It would have great sightlines to a stage, and the tailgating would be incredible... I mean the parking lots around the Philly stadiums are massive!
