tampons aren't intrinsically scary, despite being constructed of chlorine-treated rayon, cotton, binders, fillers and, in some cases, hydroxylated polyvinyl acetal. with a string attached. just look at them... they are completely non-threatening. add sequins and googly eyes and they transform into something else entirely, as do most things in life.

No lie............. This made me almost p i s s myself when my dog Rex came trotting down the beach when I was a teenager with a used tampon hanging out of his mouth by the string....... My parents did not see the humor I did and Rex got dragged down to the water and thrown in by my dad................ I miss that dog........

Why I'm sharing this story, I don't know... but when I worked for a sports camp in college, one of my co-coaches discovered a used feminine hygiene product on the court after a basketball game!?!? How!? Why!? We will never know....

After my hysterectomy I found a site (happy hysterectomy) that had directions for tampon angel Christmas ornaments.

I made several and took them to work with me when I went back. Everyone thought they were really cute and had NO IDEA what they were made from....
