Your chant would be fine and all if Renteria was actually better than Jeter. Check out career stats and last years stats, Jeter is better in every category.

do you think that actually matters . Jeter was better than Nomar, that didn't stop us. It's just a chant, it doesn't need to make sense... as most don't

This is one of the funniest things I have ever seen.

OK, lots of stuff happened yesterday, including the Renteria deal with the Sox.

The biggest:
Richie Sexson signs with Mariners.

This is bad news for the Red Sox, as it probably makes the Yankees the frontrunner for Carlos Delgado, who was rumored to end up in Seattle.

Giants waive AJ Pierzynski.

Rumor is now that the Red Sox might be considering letting Varitek walk, and will sign Pierzynski instead. It would save them money that they could spend elsewhere, like extending Manny's contract.

Me, I think it would be a big mistake to let Varitek go. Too valuable to this team.

Other news:

Brewers trade IF Keith Ginter to Oakland for P Justin Lehr and OF Nelson Cruz.

Good move for both teams. Oakland needs a 2B, Ginter can provide them some power. Lehr should be the closer the Brewers need after trading Dan Kolb and Luis Vizcaino this week.

Minor news:

D'Backs sign Craig Counsell and Royce Clayton (hey, you can never have too many ex-Brewers!)
Cleveland signs Jose Hernandez (hey, you can never have too many strikeouts!)
Reds signs Ben Weber and David Weathers (they'll have a nice pen, and they'll need it with their rotation!)
Brewers re-sign Russ Branyan
Cardinals sign Einer Diaz

And the funniest news of the day...

Washington Nationals looking to relocate to another city. THEY HAVEN'T EVEN PLAYED A GAME YET!
