Piece of Work to be the Next Single
After Will Kimbrough's show on Radio Margaritaville tonight, Steve announced that Piece of Work will be the next single to be released. I listened to LTC for the first time in a while on the way home from work, and I really like this song. I think it's going to do really well.
It was a pleasure and a hell of an evening
Truly was our night to win
But the authorities insist on my leaving
Take care my American friend

I was beginning to wonder if they would release POW as a single. The first time I heard it, I thought it would do really well on the charts. Just out of curiosity: How many singles do you guys think they will release from LTC? I would love to see Window On The World, and Coastal Confessions released as well, but that might be a little bit of over exposure.

I don't think you'll see Back to the Islands or Window to the World released as a single....as they don't have a country enough feel to them. (Great songs....just don't think country music program directors would embrace them). If any solo song is released as a single, I think it would be Coast of Carolina. Personally, I think the next single after this will probably be Boats to Build and it will be the most widely played to date!

I agree with you alaara. I really like POW, but I would have liked to seen the George song released on country radio.a1aara wrote:I think the one he does with George Straight could be a big single!
And all across the harbour

I was just telling a friend the other day about POW and how it would make a really neat video. I can imagine what Bubba and TK could do with that one. I think it would be really popular too, as TK's songs always are. I am thrilled at the exposure no matter what songs are released!
I got a carribean soul I can barely control and I gotta go where it's WARM!

I'm confused about the release of POW as a single. I had heard that "Mockingbird" would be Toby Keith's next release from his album. It strikes me odd that Mockingbird, which is also a duet would be on the radio as the same time as POW.
My predictions for upcoming singles:
I could see Sea of Heartache being released because Strait doesn't have another album coming out for a few months and has nothing new to release to radio.
Boats to Build - I would be suprised to see this released. It's by far one of the best songs on the album, but in the past year, Alan Jackson and Jimmy have already appeared on two other songs together.
LTC - Probably not. The Kenny Chesney & Uncle Kracker duet are still getting heavy airplay as recurrents.
Coast of Carolina - This would be my best pick as a solo release. It has more of the feel of a song that would do well on mainstream country music radio.
Honestly, I don't really hear the rest of the album playing too well on country radio. I really like Coastal Confessions, Playin the Loser Again, Window On the World, Scarlet Begonias, and Back to the Island, but I really doubt radio would take to them.
Just my two cents
