Today is December 8th in the Catholic Church the Feast of the Immaculate Conception.. I'm always amazed how many Catholics don't know what it is....

Although many mistakenly believe it to refer to Jesus, the feast of the Immaculate Conception on Dec. 8 celebrates Mary's being conceived free from all sin, particularly the original sin that all descendants of Adam and Eve inherit as a consequence of the pair's fall from grace in the Garden of Eden that is recounted in Genesis 3. Mary's preservation from original sin was proclaimed by Pope Pius IX on Dec. 8, 1854. Jesus' freedom from sin was never in question.

Please take it easy on the religious jokes/bashing/comments guys and gals. I understand that was probably a joke, but religion can be a VERY serious, VERY touchy subject with people. Try to be respectful and avoid stuff like that.

Thanks.

Lay off Tom. It's an innocent question. So don't pull that b.s. that it offends you by him simply asking the question.

Then don't click on threads that are clearly about religion. See. So simple.

And if you do by accident and it offends you, tell a mod. If it contains offensive stuff...we'll boot it.

Well now I'm torn...

Although I don't agree with burning bibles... I also don't agree with needlessly being cold... Hmmm... Quite the conundrum....
