Why do you like Jimmy: Lifestyle or Music?
I'm heading off for the beautiful caribbean in a couple weeks, so i've been listening to a lot of Jimmy latley. Lots of songs that remind me of the caribbean and the island life and such, and songs that just have that layed back island feel. I gotta say, i really love the whole lifestyle that Jimmy's music exudes, so to say. It soothes me, and transcends me to another time and place which is more relaxed, warm, and tropical than boring old ohio. I can be right here in my home, surrounded by snow, but when i hear "Holiday" or "OPH" or "Tin Cup Chalice" or "Creola" or "King of Somewhere Hot" or "Havana Daydreamin'" or "Margaritaville" even, i'm somewhere far far away from my cold surroundings without even leaving my seat.
What is it that makes you like Jimmy so much, is it the lifestyle he and his music personify, or is it just the music, or something else?

Can't really tell you why Jimmy appeals to me so.
A lot of it prolly has to do with how long I've loved him/the music/the joy he radiates. A long history binds me to Jimmy . . . I was in my early 20's and Jimmy had hair when I discovered him . . . and I raised my keet on his music . . . and thinking about Jimmy or listening to the music never fails to make me smile.

Gentilly ... 42 years is a long time to wait .... a Northeast Texas woman can hope.
My love is an anchor tied to you, tied with a silver chain.

Well... hmmm, both the music and the lifestyle...
Many of you know I was born here in Bama... lived in Mobile for a short time before my family moved to Central Florida... while living in Florida throughout the early to late 80's things were a bit different than they are now... gotta remember that Disney had only been in the area about 8 yrs when we moved there... things were different then than they are even today --- course everyone has a place they can say that about -- although the retirement community was quite present (tricycles and all
sorry, but if you've never seen a 90 yr old ridin round on a tricycle with a basket... well, ya had to be there) nonetheless it wasnt quite as commercialized in our area as it is now... memories of playin in the orange groves, afternoons and weekends on the beach (cause it was free), palm trees in the front yard, drivin up to the springs to watch the manatees... man, even the fact it didnt really get dark until after 9pm in the summer cause your right there on the Central/Eastern Timeline... shorts on Christmas, driving to school in the Winter when you actually ran chance of a frost and seeing the burners glowing in the orange groves cause the sun didnt begin to shine till after you were at school, I dunno --- best times of my childhood... oh, alligators in the canals in the back yard
sand always in your car and house (no escaping it), swimming in the atlantic and the stingray flopping up across your legs as you hang on to your raft (everytime, I come back with rashes from stings but I didnt care)... having my sun bleached hair cause there's just soooo much of it... cactus in your groin when you fall out of a tree -- ya know, the good stuff
hell, I just developed a different outlook on things during those years which were a very influential time in my life... hell, I didnt realize when I was buying these Cheeseburger shirts and "U Wanna Iquana" shirts at Maas Brothers that it was from a singer I'd grow up to discover and love... the music represents my childhood... and a time and place I'm still trying to figure out how to get back to... a time and place I want my kids to grow up in... whether it be back on the Emerald Coast (a place I spend as much time on as possible) or back in Central Florida where I experienced it first hand... It's what I once had and desire to regain out of life... you asked... and that's the best way I can sum it up without an actual 2 hour conversation in person

It is the lifestyle thing that does it for the Speedo Man.
But as a matter of fact the Prince of Bluberness here lives a preaty darn good lifestyle as well. Who here would not want to be in the Speedo Man's shoes? Old Bobby Boy here does not have to pay any rent thanks to Mom and Dad, which banks alot of extra money that Bobby here earns at the used car dealership towards numerous all inclusive nude resorts trips down in the Carribean. Lets not forget about the sexy bod that the Speedo Man displays along with his awesome looks it makes for one darn good package. The only thing that is missing in the Speedo Man's life are the woman, it seems as though that all types of woman play the hard to get card with the Speedo Man. The Prince of Bluberness has finaly realised that woman are a little bit intimidated by old Bobby Boy, maybe it is because the Speedo Man ozzes to much manlyness out of his pours and that scares them off or something. If Bobby boy has a cooler car then his Pinto ( maybe a pimped out Pointiac Trans AM with eagles on the hood) and had the woman, the Prince of Bluberness would have to admit that his lifestyle would be cooler then JB's. Sorry Mr. Buffett but it is the truth.

The Speedo Man is 43 years old, 100 ibs overweight, suffers from male pattern baldness, old Bobby boy here cannot get a date if his life depended on it, and the Prince Of Bluberness still lives with his parents.
