Here's something I didn't know about last week's show....

"Early in the evening, a mini-revolt at the Mahalia Jackson Theatre appeared imminent when concert-goers learned of a house rule limiting beverage consumption to the lobby. Faced with outraged cries of blasphemy - a dry Buffett concert? -management quickly relented and suspended the rule for the evening."

That's interesting. We go see Jerry Jeff Walker at the Grand Theater in Galveston each January (New Year.) The first year he played there, the ushers told us for the very first time you could take drinks to your seats.

The last couple of years, they have changed that rule, but lots of folks break the rule.

I have watched the folks in the box seats being served champagne/drinks many a time. I think it must always be a shock to the people who go to Jerry Jeff's show unaware of what to expect. (Right, sp?)

Did any theaters allow liquor during the simulcast?

I snuck a little Captain into the theater and put it right into the "small" $4.50 coke I bought there. Did the trick

My biggest fear is that when I die, my wife will sell all my Buffett stuff for what I said I paid for it!

Some girls behind me dropped some beer bottles that rolled for two or three minutes. It was very funny.

BN's chitownpirate loosened his belt and smuggled in my 1.75L bottle of margaritas for me! :D My friend and I just put our empty cups of ice in our coat pockets! I got a few laughs when I dropped the empty bottle into the garbage can on the way out! 8)

That is too funny! Sometimes while listening to bootlegs of concerts from clubs, it seems like I can hear beer bottles rolling on the floor.

I didn't see anyone openly drinking in the Houston theater. The management seemed to be around most of the time.
