always seems that right as the year is about to end, there is someone fairly significant who dies. And all the written tributes to those who died during the year never include this person who died too close to years end.

Just checked Foxnews.com - Jerry Orbach died of prostate cancer. It was announced a month or so ago that he was diagnosed with it, but they expected him to make a full and swift recovery. What a shame.

I didn't even know he was sick until I read that he was dead.

I knew he had been diagnosed with prostate cancer recently. :( A cancer diagnosis is certainly not a death sentence, but he could have been a rational guess for the derby.

He might be okay.... simply because he guessed Pope John Paul III, when technically the current Pope is the II, not the III. Therefore, he might be off the hook "technically" although we all know who SS was talking about. He could be excused based on his unknown error.
