You could go to Heaven on Seventh, not much of a bar but a great cajun restaurant. Not much of Buffett going on, but you can't be in a better place for NYE!

Agree with the Heaven on Seventh recommendation. Never miss it when I'm in Chicago.

If you are looking for the best sports bar in the world...Joes Bar on Weed Street. Unbelievable.!

Joe's Bar is excellent, and trust me, they will have an absolute bash for NYE, just probably not Buffett themed.

Ummmm..... what kind of party are you looking for? Nearly all the bars have package deals going on NYE that cost anywhere from $50-$150 for the night. The packages usually include beer, wine, appetizers and maybe champagne.

Here's the best link for those kind of parties:

As far as Buffett-esque type bars? Well, I don't think there are that many options... but there are a few:

Trader Todd's http://www.tradertodd.com/

Cactus http://metromix.chicagotribune.com/sear ... 6168.venue

I'd stay away from the big bars like Joe's on Weed, simply because they are way overpriced and you don't get your money's worth when there are 3,000 people crammed into the joint.

Heaven on Seven might be a decent option, but admittedly I don't know much about their NYE party: http://www.heavenonseven.com/

Let me know if you need any other ideas, or have questions about a particular bar.

Their NYE party is 80s themed: http://metromix.chicagotribune.com/holi ... 2155.event

I would suggest calling them and finding out when you should arrive! The place is very small and I'm assuming it will get crowded real early!!!

Yep... and get lunch the next day at Ed Debevik's... nothing like being abused by the wait staff while you are hung over.

Let's see... Chicago, founded about 1809? Will still be there in 55 years?

Fallout Boy? maybe founded 1975 (oldest member), will have a silly fight about the drummer nailing the road manager's wife after a drunken brawl in Peoria in 2005... break up... never even make the first stage for VH-1's "Whatever happened to" show.

my money is on the city. :D

Zero sat next to Kordell Stewart at a JB concert, but I'm not sure about any of the Bears that are actually friends of Buffett.
