I have a couple of questions

Post by Jolly Mon71 »

these are probably going to seem like stupid questions to the rest of you but my knowledge of the Reeferettes is slim.

First, I was wanting to know which of the Reeferettes does the vocal in SOASOAS on the :The lady she hails from Trinidad" line during Jimmy's concerts

And second, Which one sings Calaloo? Thanks for listening. :)

I believe Nadira is the answer to both of your questions. I am positive about SOASOAS and I am 75% sure about Callaloo.

This may or may not help, but I think the sites are just great.

I guess this one is a little outdated as it says Nadirah Shakoor joined the band four summers ago...it must have been more like 8 or 9 years now.

While we're on the Carnival topic, I've got a question that bothers me so: In the credits it says that Alton Sanders is done by Ralph McDonald. I pick up Ralph's voice starting a song later in the CD, but the lyric sheet says Alton Sanders also opens the first song (after Herman Wouk's narration intro), but that sure sounds a lot like Jimmy to me. Anybody have another perspective on that?? I haven't been able to pick out the parts that the Mayer brothers do, either. I really like the whole CD and it's fun to hear the voices and parts of the CRs you don't usually hear -- e.g. Roger Guth, Nadira, Tina, Mac, Robert, Ralph, etc.

Thats definetly Jimmy right after the narration of Herman Wouk......
