JB's Cover Tunes

Post by RemovedUser »

I know Jimmy did Brown Eyed Girl, and I see he covered James Taylor's

song Mexico on Barometer Soup, which is a good cover, it really rocks !

Did he do any other covers besides those two ?

If you have License to Chill, you know there are lots of covers on that one, including

Anything Anytime Anywhere and Someone I Used to Love also by Bruce Cockburn. Isn't B.C. the person Jimmy has covered the most with 3 songs?

Jesse Winchester-- Defying Gravity

Rodney Crowell--Stars on the Water

Even on Jimmy's early Livin and Dyin he did --
Ballad of Spider John by Willis Alan Ramsey and
God's Own Drunk by Buckley.

Do you mean songs that Jimmy covers on LP and CD or in concert? And are you including the Live From CDs? If so the list is long.

Think of all the songs by Mac that Jimmy has covered.
Now all of the songs by Pete.
Now Marshall Chapman.
Now Bob Marley.
Now Steve Goodman.
Now Hank Williams.
Now Jesse Winchester.
How about the Nevilles.
Jerry Garcia
Jerry Jeff Walker
Elvis
Jimi Hendrix
Don Ho!
Bruce Cockburn
John Hiatt
Sonny Landreth
Roger Guth
Lennie Gallant
Hugh Prestwood
Matt Benton
Greg Fingers Taylor
Sam Cooke
Lucas P Gravell
Huey Smith
George Harrison
Chuck Berry
James Taylor
John Lennon and Yoko Ono
Leon Redbone

I'm sure I'm missing a few artists who Jimmy has covered either in concert or has recorded. BTW False Echos is pure Jimmy Buffett.
Captain Jack's Bar & Grill, Home to the Lost Manatee.

Livin' and dyin' in 3/4 time.

Right after False Eches is the "Tree Top Flyer" hidden track. That is a Stephen Stills song.

Also, Jimmy covered and "Buffettized" Sunny Afternoon by the Kinks.
