I think of Somewhere Over China as one of his weaker albums. My favorites include:
"Somewhere Over China"
"When Salome Plays The Drum"
"Lip Service"
He seemed to make a sincere effort to rock out on "It's Midnight (And I'm Not Famous Yet)" but that song has never clicked with me.

It's my least favorite Buffett Album.
IMO...
No great songs
A couple mediocre songs (SOC & Salome)
and the rest filler
Decent album cover
No offense to anyone who likes it, just doesn't do much for me...never gets any play from me.

"Somewhere Over China" is evil and it must be stopped.

I'll agree it's not one of his better albums, but nowhere near as bad as Don't Stop the Carnival

DSTC is a soundtrack and is much better if you read the book

Its probably my least favorite.I like about half of it.
Having said that,It does contain one of the most significant songs of my J.B. influenced life "Steamer" I told my wife years ago that song reminds me of her, about the time we started dating.
She cant listen to it without crying----------AWWWWWW

5 stars - it's an excellent album. Jimmy harmonises with himself on this record, just like on the earlier ones. I wish he'd do that more often nowadays.
