In my opinion, he's a worthless scumbag and I don't know why anyone would waste their time listening to him. But my radio gets more than 1 station and it has an on/off switch so I leave him to people who think the crap he does is funny.

I agreee. I don't understand how anyone over the age of 16 listens to his crap.

Where I live he's a fresh alternative to all the Clear Channel crap on the other stations.

I understand how people may not care for him. His show is not for everyione.

I find his cast of characters around him to be funnier than he is.

I listened t oStern for years, but had to bail when he was going through his divorce. Ever since then I have not been able to listen to him. Maybe if Jackie the Jokeman came back I would give it another shot, but I don't see that happening.

There are plenty of times that I've just turned the show off, mostly when he does his low brow, bodily function humor. But a lot of his show besides that stuff is great, in my opinion. Especially now that there's the ongoing discussion of the FCC, Clear Channel and Citadel.

And I think Artie Lange is ten times funnier than Jackie.

And can't we all relate to Artie in at least one or more aspects?

I agree that Artie is funny. There's almost nothing funnier than a fat white guy with problems, but I thought the show in general was funnier 8-10 years ago. I have tried to listen in the past few years serveral times, but I never got hooked.

the same schticks get old after awhile. Hopefully the freedom of satellite radio will rejuvinate his show.

I think a lot of his appeal is that he's like a little kid trying to see how much he can get away with before he gets punished. On satellite radio, with no restraints, he loses the shock factor. Plus, his show is free now. Will his listeners be willing to pay for it when he moves to satellite? I wouldn't be surprised if he flops big time.

The show got 10 times better when Jackie left. Artie has been a great addition to the show.

As far as him going to Sirus and flopping. Since he anounced he was going to Sirus in October their subscriber rate went from 700,000 to over one million and he still has a year left at Infinity, they are projecting that by 2006 to have over 2 million. Remember when TV cable first came out in the early 80's (I Do) no one thought then it would make it, who would want to pay for HBO and such...... Stern's new show may flop but I give him credit for taking the chance.

They had/have a package available - for $450 you get a lifetime subscription and a free radio from Sirus. Still not free but with the NFL, NCAA and other things also on Sirus it may be worth it to some people.

That's the point Stern and many other broadcasters are trying to get across. Even Dick Clark was interviewed and commented about the issues concerning Stern and censorship. Clark is a fan of Stern and also states if you don't like it you can change the channel that's why there are so many, but if that a$$ clown Michael Powell has his way he will choose for everybody. Will that mean that broadcasts on Radio Margaritaville will be censored and words beep out when Jimmy swears or when he sings a song like Lets Get Drunk &.....
