Best blenders, or at least a good one

Post by Quint »

I was wondering who makes the best blender out there. Or at least a good one. What I consider the best is one that makes ice for a frozen margarita the same consistencey that I can get at a bar. I am sick of the choppy stuff I get at home and am going broke from going to the Lone Palm every night.

I am willing to spend up to $140.00. Ok, considering how big my addiction to the tropical treat is I will probly go higher if you can personally attest that you own one that will go the distance and last a long time.

So please tell me make, brand and where I can find it.

Thanks!

I think one of the best blenders out there right now is the Waring Commerical Blender. This blender is made by Waring but was made for William Sonoma so I think this is the only place you can buy it. It's $200 but worth every cent. I've used this blender while bartending and the thing is sweet. It's got a 1/2 horsepower motor on it and has 2 speeds Hi/Low. Fill that thing to the top with ice and it'll grind it all in a second. I actually just bought one for my parents for Christmas. Makes great Eggnog margaritas.

i have and use regularly my grandmother's waring blender. the thing is literally probably 50 years old and has outlasted a number of other blenders.

I'd feel bad for you, but I have no soul.....

If you want to save some money, you could go with a SmoothiePro. I bought mine at Kohl's for like $30, and it gets the job done just fine. It has never failed to bust up big cubes of ice and has never overheated like others have that I've tried.

Another vote for KitchenAid here.

NOTHING beats my blender. Best tailgating accessory I've ever owned. Not only does it make one hell of a margarita or daquiri, it has also made me more than a few pitchers of new friends. 'Bout 11 seconds from big old blocks of ice to perfect boat drink.

Get out of the kitchen and into the parking lot! Wake 'em up, then meet your neighbors. Get to know one another of a boat drink.

I used to sell commercial kitchen equipment and bar equipment. Any commercial blender is tons better than anything you can get at a retail store. Waring or Kitchenaid Commercial are the tops. I used to have a Waring until the ex stole it from me. Another reason he's an ex.

Oooh. I forgot about KitchenAid. But go with the commerical line. We have the big commercial food mixer and it's the BEST.

Haha, Wayne. We DO have that option, but we are mindful of the Frank Zappa line:

Watch out where the huskies go, and don't you eat that yellow snow!!
