Jimmy on Ellen

Post by PA PAR8 HED »

Did anyone see it?

I caught most of it. He sang M'ville with the 6-string and then sat down for an interview.

The questions were all fluff, "How did you write Margaritaville?", "Why are they called Parrotheads?"

Did he wax his upper lip, or was he just sweating during the song? Sure looked shiny. I loved Ellen's comment about using her book as a bookmark for ASPOL.

I thought it was really good. The questions were fluff but I did not mind.
I was expecting Jimmy to do ASPOL. I've never seen him do Margaritaville solo so I did not mind him playing it.
I thought that Jimmy did a great job and the crowd was really into him.
I've never watched Ellen's show but I thought it was quite funny.
I liked the "owlhead" joke.
I'm guessing that it was cold whever the show was taped and perhaps it was chapstick or he simply just licked/wet his upper lip.

I watched it.
And now I know why I never watch her show.
I've never been a Nicole Kidman fan either, but it was pretty refreshing to see her actually smile for a change, and wear her hair like a NORMAL person.
As for Jimmy-yeah, it would've been nice to hear him do one of his rare ballads, but other than the two obvious ones, I don't think there were any other parrotheads in the audience (go figure), and apparently the only song they all knew was Margaritaville, so that's what we got.
Still, Jimmy is Jimmy, and I'll listen to him anytime, anywhere.

I am the only one who got a repeat of the ellen show today, with guests steve martin and the guy from two and a half men. They said it was an encore performance. We live on the east coast in Baltimore. Needless to say I missed Jimmy.

Ya I came home and was so excited to see JB and then when I noticed that they were talking about Steve Martin and Jon Cryer I thought something was up. They played the show from last year that was meant to air January 5, 2004. Damn, I am p***.

i really enjoyed him doing margaritaville solo, a little different take on the tempo and a relaxed version...my guess is that is what he was like playing captain tony's way back when at about 2am...the questions were all fluff, but him main goal is to promote ASPOL...it would be nice to see a full hour interview with him.
if you cant laugh at yourself, laugh at someone else.

Did you expect any better from Ellen Degeneres? I swore I'd never watch her show, but I made an exception for the man today during my lunch break. Always good to see Jimmy, Ellen was lame as expected. She needs a man in her life to straighten her out, then maybe she'll get a clue.
