My last info was directly from M'Ville....they said "no go", but that could've changed, still trying to re-confirm.
this lines up exactly with the message clear channel is expressing as well...my question pertained to the entier season at alpine and if a couple names were to be part of it...buffett was a no...this was over a week ago and I guess things could have changed, but I'm not buying what the bud man is selling at this point, his beer or his ticket info
As of now, the only official shows at Alpine all year are DMB. If I had bought those season tickets, I'd be p***!!!!!

yep. Any idea what the holdup is (one act, or two, sure.. can see that.) But everyone but DMB? I knew his legal fees for the "dumping incident" were high, but that high? :D

I don't know much about the "promotional tix" game, but I was listening to a radio station out of Chicago last night and today- giving away Dave Matthews tix for end of June shows to Alpine.
That might be, since that date's been set and tickets are already on sale.

Yes, but when you look up Oz Fest they list Alpine and Tinley with scheduled dates.

Q98.5 - I called them this AM also.......confirmed he is coming, but no date yet.
I'd love to know where he is getting this information, Brian gave a pretty grim report last time and the information that I got from a clear channel employee earlier last week made it sound as if there was zero chance...I'm all for it, and haven't canceled my hotel rooms yet, just not very positive about the whole thing now
According to the station as well as the Budweiser/Corona distributor here in town, who is actually giving the tix to the station, said if the distributor is giving the tix, it's a pretty sure thing, just no date set as of yet. Both have said the same thing.
I'm not disputing the facts here, but I do find it interesting that someone would be giving away tickets to a concert that's doesn't have a date, and which is at least 3 months away. The radio station has probably gotten the word that there will be a concert, but they wont send out the tickets to the winners until there has been a set date. Also, I do remember a radio station in Madison last year that gave out promo tickets around this time. I just hope this rumor is true. :D

The radio station did not actually draw a winner on Thursday night. This was the beginning of a series of live broadcasts in which if you attend then you are able to put your name in the drawing for the Buffett tickets.
I believe they will draw the winner the first part of May. I specifically asked a couple of different dj's, how can you have a drawing when a concert is not even confirmed yet?? They all insisted that there IS going to be a concert at Alpine.

These live events draw alot of people that come for only one reason and that is to get their name in the drawings for possible tickets. I can't imagine that the radio station would advertise Buffett if they weren't 100% sure they had the tickets. Only time will tell...

Here's my question, how can Alpine guarantee tickets to Buffett at a different venue (Wrigley)?

I'm just the messenger here, and I don't know what to think of this. But, in another thread, a season ticket holder posted that he was assured there would be no JB show at Alpine but that he would be guaranteed a seat to one of the Wrigley shows.

Well, evil clear channel promotes almost every single concert in the Midwest. I would assume the are probably promoting the wrigley show.

this is spot on to what I was told...just one more 'group' with their hand in the kitty before seats go onsale to everyone else...so if you want a seat for the sunday show at wrigley, buy a 1150 season ticket at Alpine...150 of which will cover your wrigley seat...
