In defense of Wildcat, venues I've worked with in the Midwest would not look kindly upon employees posting information about upcoming events on a public discussion board. In fact, I know of a couple instances of firings for that sort of thing. I know my company would have no hesitation in doing so.

I do have to give kudos to Alpine for allowing you to post updates on the situation, as that is very helpful to those who need to make plans. But I completely understand the reasoning behind Wildcat's doubts. Judging from the way he phrased his questions, I'm guessing he has dealt with similar situations.

BTW, my Clearchannel sources have said for three months, July 30 is the date. They've never wavered, never changed, never speculated on any other date.

Hi:

Thanks for the response. My comment came basically out of the fact that I have been here for the second straight year, met many people on the board at the venue itself to say hello, etc. If he had read back even a little bit he would have seen the responses that I posted.

My management at Alpine and the district management responsible for the entire midwest amphitheatre division of Clear Channel encourage me to interact on forums such as this to make the fan experience at our venues even better.

Interesting on your "sources" as well. I would be interested in knowing who they are (just out of curiosity). PM me.

Regards,
Brian

Thanks for the scoop Brian, one question though...we know that the Dave Matthews and Ozzfest dates at Alpine are official (according to their websites) Any reason why those aren't on the Alpine site? Is it possible that dates may be getting set without some at Alpine getting the official word? Just curious...

Hi:

Funny that you ask as when DMB announced the Alpine shows, we didn't know why. The deal hadn't even been signed as of the date it was posted. Same goes for Ozzfest. While the tours post things, until all of the onsale dates and show times, opening acts, and other ticketing logistics are set and the deal is offically signed can we actually post the show. Hence the other two sites reporting the shows, but our site being blank. Seeing as though Buffett is a huge show for us, believe me, it's in our best interest to get the word out as soon as we can.

Regards,
Brian
