Kenny Chesney new album buyers ONLY (page 7, halfway down)

you can still create a genre but not have a "patent" on it. When i say "patent" i mean that Jimmy isn't the only one who can record island music. He can create his own genre and let others record in it too, as he's done with little complaint.

Technically, Island Boy since I've done all that in the last 12 months (not from Maine though) but the song gets it all wrong.

Which song reminds you most of the "islands"?
None. They remind me of Top 40 radio in Nashville.

Is this your favorite Kenny Chesney CD yet?
The one with the Uncle Kracker duet. That was a decent pop single though not my style. Kind of bounces in your head like a Britney Spears song.

I usually do not partake in such childish narrow minded threads. I have better things to do with my time on this site. But it really makes me shake my head that anyone can just openly bash music that someone else enjoys. I don't like rap, but don't put down those who do. The theory that Chesney will replace Buffett is an insult to both Chesney and Buffett. Although their music has moments that sound simular, they are different. Nobody can replace anybody. musical artists are as different as fingerprints. If Chesney is writing and performing songs that remind you of Buffett...good for him. Still its all Chesney, his thoughts and visions. Just as Jimmy Buffett sings of his life's experiences, so does Kenny Chesney.

As much as I like Old Blue Chair...its a song from his previous release. I really love 3 tracks. Somewhere In The Sun, Key Lime Pie & Soul Of A Sailor

Clearly....As I have stated before on these boards. Old Blue Chair was his best song to date. This collection his right there with it.

Just bought it at Walmart for 15$ came with the roadcase 2 dvd, has video of kenny jamming with Sammy Hagar at Cabo Wabo on it, and the show from Detroit.

To each his own but the beach bum image he's desperately trying to sell reminds me of a canned ham, they all look a bit different and smell funkier but are all in the same mold. He'll never get out of the can.

I see you are from the midwest..which leads me to wonder if you know anything about the call of the ocean. Maybe you do.....because one doesn't have to be from the coast or an island to feel the gentle pull of the sea on your soul.....I grew up in the mountains of NC and only spent a couple of weeks a year at the beach. But every retreat to my ocean....my home... calms me. You see you don't have to have deep life experiences to understand, appreciate and love the sand and surf. Its about that one shaft of light on your face as you take and early morning stroll and watch the sunrise. Its about the peacefulness of the porpoises at sunset...it about looking deep into yourself and understanding what 's really important in life.

beautifully written sunseeker, i am with u 100%, thats the same way i feel. I'm from the midwest but whenever i close my eyes and put in my buffett or chesney cds, its the ocean and the palms and the boats and the sun and the breeze that i feel. . . .not the cold and the clouds and the snow and the terrible city and the polution and the stress. There's nothing more moving and touching than Jimmy's music and Kenny's new CD. . .. it trancends me to another time, another place, on an island far away, somewwhere southeast of disorder . . . .

sort of like sh*tting your pants and throwing a hissy fit over someone posting an album released in 2001 that was re-released on DVD in 2004 for their precious "Favorite albums of 2004" thread. I'd say thats an example of "trying to control the direction . .. " and "trying to tell people what they can't post." I would have started ANOTHER Kenny thread for my little interesting survey, but i knew i'd catch hell for starting another one and theres already way too damn many KC threads as it is. by the way, you don't have to say "s ucks", "sucks" works just fine
