Honeymoon Location
Hi gang. I am getting married in July and looking for a honeymoon spot, and couldn't think of a better place to begin my search.
We are looking for something in the Caribbean or Mayan Riviera. Neither of us have been to either spot.
Also, we prefer an all inclusive, as our thoughts are that once we arrive at a location, we want no worries. Additionally, we probably want something on the smaller side that provides excellent service.
Do any of you experts have any advice / suggestions.
I would greatly appreciate any help you could provide, as there are an unbelieveable amount of hotels / resorts.
Thanks in advance.

hubby and i did a seven day cruise of the caribbean for ours- we went to St. Thomas, St. Maarten, St. John and ended up in the Bahamas too- our favorite BY FAR was St. Thomas- breathtaking and beautiful.
A few years ago we did a four day cruise to Cozumel and Key West- we went to Margaritaville (of course) in Key West- that was a lot of fun too-
Hope that helps

I just booked my honeymoon trip for July last week , so I've done all the research for you!
If you are looking for a nice all inclusive, look at Galley Bay on Antigua or Palm island in the grenadines. Both are upper end all inclusives. Check out http://www.eliteislandresorts.com/ for a list of these and some really good other resorts. We really tried to stay away from the mass marketed sandals etc. reosrts so I can't help you with those.
In the end we decided against the all inclusive option (although it was very close) and decided to split our time between Vieques (there's a thread about that on this board somewhere) and Virgin Gorda. We thought this best for us because we like to do a lot of exploring and enjoy eating at small local places. Plus we got a pretty good deal on the Vieques portion of the trip.
Good Luck!

A few years ago, my family did a trip to Jamaica. We rented a house that had a full staff (butler, maid, chef, etc.). Dollar for dollar, it was about the same price as some of the all inclusives. Talk about pampering...
Plus, we had access to the Ritz Carlton. We went one day, but it was so crowded and their were kids everywhere.

Jimmy writes about a place in a pirate looks at 50, that I haven't made it to, but looks like it might be something you would want to look into www.sicomono.com

Well, I can help you if you want info on the Mayan Riviera. I am a travel agent and this area is my specialty...I research it and book it all day long...99% of my clients go here, I have friends that live there and I go a few times a year as well, so I know a bunch about almost every hotel there.
Bottom line, where you stay will be somewhat determined by how much you want to spend but there are some really fantastic resorts that won't cost you an arm and a leg (like Sandals!)
Let me know if you need more info on this!

I highly recommend Royal Plantation in Ocho Rios, Jamaica. It sounds exactly like what you are looking for. It is smaller than most of the super-sized all-inclusives and offers much, much more in terms of elegance and personal service. In addition, no one under 18 years of age is permitted. Guests also have full exchange priveleges with any Sandals resort on the island. The food is the best I've ever eaten, too. Great bartenders and staff. It's definitely worth looking into.

I used the following travel agency and they were FANTASTIC:

Good luck and have a great trip, wherever you go.

Today is the tomorrow you spent yesterday worrying about. Was it worth it?

I'm also in the July marriage bunch and will be honeymooning at the aventura spa palace in the riveria maya
all inclusive, adults only, access to partner resorts and it fits what i'm looking to get out of a honeymoon
I did a lot of research on them and they seem pretty good
anyhow, it's definitely exciting ... decide what you want to get out of the honeymoon and see if they offer

sorry cant really help you too much because i do almost exclusivley cruises to that part of the world, but the Ritz in St. Thomas is absolutley amazingly breathtakingly speechlessly stunning. The only problem is i dont know if it is all-inclusive. Also the Four Seasons on Nevis has all of those absolutley stunning qualities as the Ritz in St. Thomas, and it actually may even be better, its a little more private and exclusive.
